About 100 lbs difference
My name is Erin, and I'm 27. I've struggled with weight problems most of my life. After reaching 342 lbs, my highest weight, I decided that enough was enough. I lost 40 lbs within a few months, but slowly started gaining it back. When I hit 322 lbs again, I started my real weight-loss journey in September 2009.
When I joined Sparkpeople, I managed to create a healthy diet for myself and I achieved working out 5 times a week for 50 minutes each session. In 90 weeks, I lost about 100 lbs. I felt physically and mentally amazing, and I couldn't wait to continue my journey on Sparkpeople.
In April of 2012, I started having problems with my eyesight. This led to a lot of stress, which in turn started to bother my stomach. I was diagnosed with GERD. Unfortunately, this set me back several months. I tried to work out by walking, but it just wasn't enough. In January 2013, I fought to get back on track. I worked out at the gym more and tried not to let the GERD defeat me, but my own mental health finally stepped in the way.
I did manage to get down to about 186 lbs, but I was so sick at that time because of the eye and stomach problems. In about a year, I have put on nearly 60 lbs. I am not happy with myself at all, so it's time for me to make a change for myself again. It's time for me to find ways to fix my mental and physical health so that I can feel happy once again. The most important thing for me to remember is that I have to do this for myself, and for no one else, and I have to have support from friends and family. This has been a tough journey, but I'm ready to get back into it.
I've been told by many people that my journey has encouraged them to start their own, which is the best compliment I think I could ever receive. I am happy to give advice and offer support to anyone who needs it. I know how hard it is to jump on the weight-loss road. I also know the fear of tripping off of it, but if you have determination, motivation, and people to support you, you CAN succeed. Good luck to you all!
With determination, motivation, and people to support you, you can do it!
