Time to name it - and claim it.

My mantra: Eyes on the prize, kid... eyes on the prize.

I want to do everything in my power to feel awesome in my own skin again.

I want to rejoice in my priceless, precious, good health.

I want to hone and refine my physical and mental strength so I can do bigger, better, bad-ass things.

I want to be the best "me" I can be, for MYSELF... because it will spill and overflow into everything around me and create a chain reaction of awesomeness.

My Goals:
1) Make the best choices I can at any given time, in any given situation.

2) Get better sleep.

3) Maintain a lifestyle of whole wellness - mind, body, AND spirit.

My Program:
Going vegetarian (very nearly vegan) was a huge asset to helping me lose weight - and I dance. A LOT. The combination of the two has given me much success... not just because they are beneficial on their own (eating right and moving more), but because they are in line with the things I am passionate about (animal life and creativity). To thine own self be true... and the rest will fall into place. Life lesson, there. I'm also a big Tony Horton enthusiast; his programs are biomechanically sound and efficient.

Personal Information:
Live in DE. I have a bunch of bossy cats and a ginormous Great Dane/Boxer puppydog. (It's like sharing a house with a pony on crack.) By day, I'm a humble cubicle jockey; by night, I'm a bohemian goddess. I like the Oxford comma.

Other Information:
You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Yeah I haven't really asked my work if a standing desk is OK... my husband is building it for me and will try to match the other wood in my cube as much as possible, and I'm just gonna for it. I'll be able to sit or stand and the only thing that'll look different from outside of my box is that my monitors will be taller than they are now. But hey, I'll be HAPPIER.. have more energy, be more productive. I'd like them to tell me why it's a bad thing, if they have an issue with it. We'll see!

He's making me a platform that'll sit on top of my existing desk. They have some on Amazon for $60+.

Hey thanks for the comment. I'm amazed that with what I'm eating right now, I'm still ending up with 40% carbs. It's really hard to get below that number, and I'm not really eating starches at all. Barely touching the pasta, bread, crackers. I did the math on the plan she wrote out for me, and it came out to 59% carbs, 34% protein, and 7% fat. There's no way that's 100% accurate, but I was curious. My own days have been working out to be around 40/40/20. But all the fitness websites I've read from, many of them leaning towards bodybuilding and strength, push me heavily towards protein and good healthy fats being AOK. They even go so far as to say .85-1 g. of protein per pound of goal body weight. I'm getting up to 90-100 right now and it's an effort... I can't fathom coming up with another 50-60 grams a day! 150 grams of protein... that's 1 1/3 lbs. of chicken EVERY DAY. See? I'm going to drive that dietician crazy. I think I'm thinking about it too hard.
