The Journey

I have finally decided to take control of my weight and health for the future. I have a way to go but at least I have made a start. I don't want to get diabetes or high blood pressure or any of those things that start to plague us in middle age. Life begins at 50 - I have a year to get there and my goal is to get down to a healthy weight.

My Goals:
Consume between 1200 and 1550 a day
Burn 750 Calories a week
Cardio 3 days a week for 30 minutes
Strength workout 3 days a week
Stretch and condition 2 days a week

My Program:
Logging my meals each day
Walking as my main cardio workout for a few weeks to get used to excercise
Strength workout on my phone - it shows me how to do it correctly and timing
Piltes DVD to help with stretching and toning


Personal Information:
14.9.13 I am from the UK, I am 48 years old and currently 207lbs. My start weight a week before coming to spark was 216lbs 2oz. I offically did my 1st weigh in on the 28th Aug 2013.

Other Information:
I love walking. My new favourite snacks are vegatable sticks which have replaced potato chips. I am retraining myself for a healthier lifestyle.

Hi there. My exercise schedule changes every month or two months. I used to just jog/walk outside to do 5K training and I also did zumba once a week. Recently, I did 10 weeks of cardio kickboxing 2 times a week and also did pilates once a week. Now, I am just doing 1 day of yoga and walking when I can. The cold weather is holding me back a bit because I prefer to be outside when I walk!

I love to walk also. To me walking is the best cardio for me...i find that i lose faster when i walk....reading your story has motivated me to keep going not just for me but for my children...i do struggle everyday to get back out there, but i now know that i can do it... emoticon
