Although the pounds ebb and flow, and it's a constant struggle, I have absorbed into my life the idea that I need to say 'Yes' - to invitations, opportunities, etc. Instead of thinking I can't do that, afford it, shouldn't .... I work hard at thinking 'How can I manage that, afford that, make a plan, to fit that into my Life?' It seems to be working ....
Originally from the UK, I now live in Cape Town, South Africa. In July 2007 I decided to change my life by living healthily and achieved my goal weight in April 2008, and felt great. Maintenance during 2012 saw a few of the released pounds find their way back so I shall pay more attention in 2013.
The magnificent Motor Yacht on my background is not MINE - I wish - but was berthed for the summer 2000/2001 in Cape Town alongside the hotel where my youngest worked for a while. The all-nations crew befriended our family &we have been in contact since. Isn't she an absolute beauty to behold?
I can but dream - and I do all the time. I do the dreaming and The Universe does the scheming, but I do the hard work wherever required.
It's just that I believe in working smart rather than hard - in all things.
2017 - Let it be Easy - Let it Flow
To embrace my healthy lifestyle and appreciate everything in my life. It is up to me to make the choices to find joy daily.
I go to gym almost every day - aqua and studio classes and have been taking ballroom dancing classes for three years - I'm not so sure that these are so much fun any more. To be re-evaluated ... Yes, I did stop - finished my contract and will use the funds for travelling and other fun events. 2017 - I don't miss the dancing - correction, I don't miss the exam stress and the b!!chiness at social events.
I live in Cape Town, South Africa - it is a beautiful place with lovely people. One of these is my Energy Buddy who keeps me on track with my fitness goals. We constantly energise each other
Update - she has moved 1000miles away but that shouldn't make any difference
It did though. I still miss her two years later. The solution is to visit occasionally - next trip Feb 2013.
The trip was great - we visited Sun City which was a good experience.
2017 - Hmm, time to visit again!
Then she brought her kids and Dad to visit me for my birthday in May. She is coming to Cape Town in February - sans kids - and we are discussing a trip to Morocco in Sept 2014 (positive attitude - Morocco, Morocco, here we come!)
We got together at her Company's annual Sales Awards in Cape Town, April. I did go to Morocco - but with DD2. She and I also went to Rome when I visited her in the UK in May/June
Next meeting EB is May 2015 Drakensberg Mountains - that was cancelled by her

Yeah, I'm glad I didn't do any damage either. I ran for 49 minutes this morning. No problem with the tendons. So I'm quite relieved. How are you feeling?

Yoo Hoo to you. and thank you for the bloglove on my Birthday Month post. It really does feel different this year, without my mother, but it still feels good. I'll be spending some time with my son and daughter in law, and that is always a great thing. I am so richly blessed. Hope you are doing well and getting ready for springtime. and still dancing!!

Hi Sheila! How have you been? I'm keeping my calories in the 1300-1550 range. I was starving today after my run so I front loaded more calories in breakfast and lunch than usual. That leaves fewer for dinner, but a big salad should even out my numbers a bit while still keeping me in range.
