Hi, my name is Sherree. I started my weight loss journey in July of 2002. At that time I weighed 188 pounds and wore a size 18. By Thanksgiving of 2002 I had lost 50 pounds and was down to a size 10 petite ... It took me a while longer to lose the last 16 and get down to the size 4 to 6 petite that I currently am ... I still struggle with 5 to 10 pounds that like to revisit me when I let my guard down, but I have managed to maintain my weight for over 4 years and counting ... July of this year will be 5 years ... I am proud of my accomplishment and enjoy sharing my journey with all of my old and new friends here at Spark People ... my daughter said today that she had a hard time remembering me heavy, that she had to look at a picture to remember ... Does that mean I have turned a corner?

4/13/2008 Update

So what I hope will be a BRIEF relapse ... surgery and some frustrating and stressful life events caused about 30 pounds to sneak up on me again ... so back to the tried and true ... weight for the last few days 141 to 142 ... so 15 to 25 pounds to get back to where I want to be AGAIN ... I am only human ... so there I've admitted it out loud ... in front of God and all of Spark people ... LOL ... but I will look like that again on the back of our NEW boat on the Torch Lake sandbar ... and I promise to post photos to prove it ... LOL ... still ... not lookin to bad for a 51 year old broad ...

9/15/08 Update:

O.K. so things have not gone as well as I had planned ... weight has been yo-yoing ... have lost 10 ... gained back 5 ... now 10 ... so really am STILL at the point where I need to lose those dreaded 20 pounds I put on ... just now weighed 140.5 ... have been around that mark as of late ... and a pound or two above or below as well ... as I said ... yo yoing ... not a good thing ... have to really recommit myself and start logging food again and make a recommitment to a regular exercise program which has been sorely lacking for quite a while ... always busy with my daughter, hubbie and grandchildren ... but not focused on a particular goal and measuring progress and results ... so really need to do that ... Am also concerned about my just turned 9 year old grandson, Matthew ... who weighs between 129 and 132 at just under 5 feet tall ... whose weight is now impacting his ability to play football (which he just started to do this year) ... he can not play at all if his weight exceeds 130 and his play is limited if he is above 125 ... so our short term goal is to get his weight to 125 or below, while maintaining a healthy diet and exercise program ...

Quick question to friends or others reading my page: Does Spark of somewhere else have a website or section for children 9 years old?

My Goals:
My goal is to make a permanent shift to a healthier lifestyle, so I can maintain my new size and weight. I am currently a size 6 petite ... but when I gain the 5 to 10 pounds that seem to constantly plague me, they are tight ... I would like to get back to the 120 to 125 range ... preferably the lower end of the spectrum ... so that if I gain a pound or two it is not going to be a big deal ...


My Program:
I started working out at the gym ... again ... at the beginning of February ... after a 5 month hiatus ... due first to illness ... then a little procrastination thrown in ... I currently do 3 days a week ... strength and weight training on Monday ... Kickboxing on Wednesday and Friday ... am going to add another strength and weight training on Thursdays on the advice of my instructor ... and thinking about doing something aerobic for at least 30 minutes every day ... used to do 48 minutes of interval training on my Lifecycle every morning ... then a brisk cool down walk around the neighborhood ... to make up an hour ... but haven't done that for awhile ... so thinking to start back with 30 minutes ... in the summer walked 5 miles a day ... but winter in Michigan is depressing ... I don't like cold ... LOL ... so need to find indoor things ... Oh yes ... I basically eat a low fat ... high fruit and veggie diet ... when I am not cheating ... which has helped me lose 66 pounds to date
