Shy Lone Star

Hello and thank you for stopping by my page. 68 years old next week June 16th, divorced since 1990 and currently residing outside of USA for last 6 years. Thanks to Internet, I'm able to keep up with the news in USA.

I was one of those people, who could eat as much and anything I wanted from time I was a teen till about 55 years old without a pound gain. (125 was average weight for me for years). Then the pounds starting creeping up...I knew it, but didn't do anything about it ...

Then the pounds starting creeping up...I knew it, but didn't do anything about it until about 2 years ago. At that time I discovered Dukan Diet. 30 days going from 195 to 176 pounds. A lot of (poor) excuses I fell off the wagon and here I am now at SparksPeople...up to 220 pounds! My biggest excuse was it was so easy to lose the weight, I will do it again later...but later never came and I weighed more then I ever did!

Now no more dieting...as we read over and over on these pages...it's a change of eating habits, life style and mind set.

I am enjoying reading everyone's story, trying out new recipes...what me...cook? It was always no cooking/no mess to clean up...rip open a bag or box, eat out...that was my thing. Cheese and crackers, Pringles, and so on.

At the time I joined SparkPeople, it hit me...I've been a binge eater all my life. Now that I've nailed that down...not gonna happen again.

I have a great life, happy and content...my weight never really bothered me until it started effecting my energy level, not to mention carrying a lot of weight on my 5 1/2 size feet! Sitting most of the day/night at computer, playing games, reading, writing...all sit down activities from time I woke to bedtime...it's no wonder the pounds piled on.

I'm excited and motivated to know I can and will lose the weight one pound at a time. Might take till this time next year...but if I don't take control now...by this time next year I'll be even far more heavier then I am now.

Thank you Spark People for the inspirations, recipes and the push I needed to change my lifelong habits.
