Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Thirty something, weight loss has been a lifelong struggle exacerbated by life as professional (i.e. I spend about 12 hrs per day in my office) with little time for myself and exercise. Now add the fear that I'm teaching my teen daughter bad habits.

I am making changes. Now I wake up at 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. and workout before heading out for the day. If I don't make time for myself, who's going to? My daughter will have the example she deserves and I will have the healthy, fit body ...

My Program:
Working out 6 days per week for at least 60 minutes. I'm doing it at home for now because it's hard to get to the gym on my schedule. Right now Jillian Micheals is my trainer of choice. I also use a stationary bike at home for an average of 30 mins per day.

Update 6/2013- I've hired a
personal trainer to help me with strength training 2x weekly.

As for food, I am counting calories and restricting myself to 1400-1500 per day and trying the low-carb way of eating.

I think part of it is I'm so happy with where I'm at... I am having so much fun that I don't feel the pressure to lose more weight, even though I am clearly still overweight and I know I want to lose the rest of the weight or I'd just make this my goal weight... but I know it's not the finish line for me. I think without feeling the pressure to lose weight I am kind of floating along maintaining, which is better than gaining but it's not the goal right now, eek. :/ oh well LOL. I'm still here and I'm still trying so I'm not going to beat myself up for a bad day, or bad days. :)

I did it perfectly for like 35 days. Then I got off track and got back on it then decided I preferred counting calories. The more I make things off limits the more I tend to want them. So I've been off it at least 3 weeks now, I think lol. I had to remind myself I lost the majority of my 90 pounds counting calories and that I could not only lose the rest that way but it's something I can do for a lifetime to maintain as well. I was never committed to the carb nite as a way of life.. It just wasn't for me :/
