Thirty something, weight loss has been a lifelong struggle exacerbated by life as professional (i.e. I spend about 12 hrs per day in my office) with little time for myself and exercise. Now add the fear that I'm teaching my teen daughter bad habits.

I am making changes. Now I wake up at 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. and workout before heading out for the day. If I don't make time for myself, who's going to? My daughter will have the example she deserves and I will have the healthy, fit body and mind I deserve.

My Program:
Working out 6 days per week for at least 60 minutes. I'm doing it at home for now because it's hard to get to the gym on my schedule. Right now Jillian Micheals is my trainer of choice. I also use a stationary bike at home for an average of 30 mins per day.

Update 6/2013- I've hired a
personal trainer to help me with strength training 2x weekly.

As for food, I am counting calories and restricting myself to 1400-1500 per day and trying the low-carb way of eating.

    Thanks for the blog comment. So to fix your problem you need to get rid of friends and family!! No more birthdays, achievements, baby celebrations, etc! That's all there is to it!!

    I don't have those problems. I only have a small handful of friends and I really only see them a few times per year: New Year's Eve, Super Bowl Sunday, 4th of July and occasionally 1-3 other times.

    Anti social for the win!!

    Thanks for the blog comments. Just aiming to make small changes and to make a few more good choices each week. I'll take these small losses because they will build my confidence back up and allow me to have some better losses down the road.

    Thanks for the blog comments. Yeah, I saw that 4 lb loss, after a 6lb gain. Then I after a static week I saw another 2 lb gain. This is not the trend I was looking for!!

    It could be a "hurts so good" type of pain, but it could also be a "holy crap I think I'm dying" type of pain. Just have to wait and see :)
