Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Thirty something, weight loss has been a lifelong struggle exacerbated by life as professional (i.e. I spend about 12 hrs per day in my office) with little time for myself and exercise. Now add the fear that I'm teaching my teen daughter bad habits.

I am making changes. Now I wake up at 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. and workout before heading out for the day. If I don't make time for myself, who's going to? My daughter will have the example she deserves and I will have the healthy, fit body ...

My Program:
Working out 6 days per week for at least 60 minutes. I'm doing it at home for now because it's hard to get to the gym on my schedule. Right now Jillian Micheals is my trainer of choice. I also use a stationary bike at home for an average of 30 mins per day.

Update 6/2013- I've hired a
personal trainer to help me with strength training 2x weekly.

As for food, I am counting calories and restricting myself to 1400-1500 per day and trying the low-carb way of eating.

emoticon Thanks so much for the kind words! You are ALWAYS so supportive of me and I do not thank you enough. Every time you comment on one of my blogs it makes me smile. Don't get me wrong, I am appreciative for each and every comment I receive and am very blessed, but there are certain people when I see the username in my mind I go "I know EXACTLY who that is" and I smile... and you are one of those people. So even though I don't thank you enough, just know that I never take it for granted!

And you said it exactly right, the whole captivity/wild thing with the animals is a very touchy subject, and it is always hard to know exactly what is best. In captivity at the very least they are protected and I at least know that "my Billy" is safe from poachers in the Zoo. emoticon

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my "Chef Boyar 'B'" Blog the other day! I don't think I would know what to do if I didn't cook all my food at one time for the week because I have been doing it for so long lol! I have used kale in my eggs before and I do like that too. As for nicknames, I will have to work on that :) Hope you have a great week!
