Finding My Way

What will you do differently this time? A question I am asking myself in this Summer's quest for healthy lifestyle changes that last past the busy Autumn and Winter seasons. I do not ask this lightly, nor do I ask this meanly. My pattern over the last several years has been to lose 20lbs over the Spring and Summer only to gain it right back in the following two seasons. This time I aim to change it.

My Goals:
Reflect on what has made me stumble and give up in the past and come up with a plan to counter act that in order to maintain a healthier lifestyle at a healthier weight.

Lose 30 pounds, maintain without gaining back, and then decide if I want to lose any more than that.

My Program:
**Drinking lots of water.
**Eating more fruits and vegetables.
**Eating a lot less of sugar and refined carbs.
**Listening better to "hunger/satiety" signals
**Become more active: play with sons, walk our dogs, Pilates, Fluidity workout, tennis, yoga, elliptical, swiss ball, cycling, etc.

Personal Information:
I live in beautiful Southern California with my husband and two younger sons. Our grown son is currently serving as a Marine.

Other Information:
"In the midst of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer."

Hi there!

I am in search of talented Christian artist that need a little motivation or know others who need motivating in this area. I am a christian mother of 1 daughter who is a super talented artist. She was homeschooled from 6st grade through 12th & is now attending college. She needs a little more motivation in developing her artistic abilities, so I built a website sponsoring a christian art contest. I am hoping this will motivate her to get serious about her work when she sees other Christians that are serious about art. I just started the site and can really use some support getting it going. If you are an artist or have a child that is an artist and want to submit your artwork and enter the contest, that would be great. If you canít participate, please pass on the link to others that may. I would even love it if you gave me some feedback or left a word of encouragement in the forum. The website is www.christianartcontest.com. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and may God Bless you!

JoAnn

Welcome to Christian Homeschoolers Healthy Living team. We have fun, chat about curriculum, but most of all we encourage each other. Jump right in to the threads, we love new people! Meg is from So Cal too. I am from Idaho. I graduated one this past year, have a senior this year, and a freshman and a 5 year old. The older two are still at home but attend a Bible Intern school. Whew. That is why I am home but I hope to get a part-time job soon...too many drivers = lots of gas $$ lol
