I'm Susan - a wife, mother of three, grandmother, and ready to be fit! I live out in the country with my husband, dog, cat, and two horses, and enjoy gardening, riding and walking. It's time to make my health a priority!
"You don't get what you want, you get what you work for." It's time to do the work!
Quit hovering in one place, and start hoofing it! After maintaining my weight loss between 25-30 pounds for over a year, it's high time to get more off.
Short term goals:
Lose 5% of my weight in the Fall Challenge.
Long Term goal:
Weigh less than 180, which will put me in the "overweight" vs. "obese" category on the BMI chart.
Focusing on lots of vegetables, fruits, low fat proteins, whole and complex grains and little to no sugar. My exercise program includes treadmill workouts, exercise videos, beginning strength training (besides lifting 50 pound bags of feed and my 35 pound grandson) gardening, and horses (care and riding).
I have lived in beautiful North Georgia since I was a teenager. My husband, Steve, and I live on 20 rural acres where I am blessed to be able to do the things I love - garden, have horses, walk and enjoy the country!
We have raised two daughters and one son, all who still live fairly close by. Now that I am retired, I can spend more time with my grandson.

Monday was a gorgeous day in Bar Harbor! I had made reservations for the boat tour a week before, then the weather turned bad and I was afraid we wouldn't be going. But, Sunday dawned crystal clear and sunny, so glad we got to see Bar Harbor at least once. Parking was terrible, but we managed! Matt did an expert job of parking our 3/4 ton pickup in a parallel space barely large enough for it! We arrived in town at 9:30 am and only saw 2 parking places empty out of hundreds!

Hi Sue! Don't know for sure yet which way we'll be coming home. I know that we are planning on spending some time in Alabama though, at one of Ocean Canyon's parks. We are definitely not coming home along the East Coast, I've had more than enough of the hordes of people and all the congestion. Loving Maine! Not too many people here, lots of wide open spaces and cool weather!

We drove through Kennebunkport, just so I could say that I've been there! It is a busy, tourist town. Loved the huge homes along the coast. They looked historic and probably were!

We have been stuck at home since Monday, unable to leave because our driveway is so wet and soft, too soft to support our vehicles! I got out for church this morning by driving alongside the driveway on the field. We had the man who did our other gravel work out yesterday to see about getting our driveway done. He said he would try to get it done this week but will have to see if he can get the gravel, because right now everyone wants it!
So, we have been blessed in that our house is dry and warm, but were impacted by all the rain collecting in the driveway. We have owned this land since 2006 and never had a problem but this year was one for the record books along with last year. The problem was, this year, our ground was already wet and unable to absorb any more moisture. We are supposed to leave next Sunday the 12th on our vacation but will have to see how the driveway is if it doesn't get fixed before then.
