Healthy Living is a Journey, Not a Marathon

I've done this health and fitness thing too many times to count. I have all the tools and knowledge to be successful. I just need the tenacity to stick with it! Patience is not a virtue of mine, which causes me to always fall off the wagon. What's worse is that my husband works out alot and is very fit without watching what he eats, so he often leads me down the path of temptation and I really need to be delivered from his temptation shenanigans.

I joined SP in October 2012 and had immediate success. Within 5 months I'd lost 25lbs and felt great. Spring and Summer arrived and I was ready! I was cuter, in smaller clothes and feeling really good about myself. What was the only thing to do? Indulge! I totally went off plan and into the land of denial. I wouldn't even look at the scale. I didn't reach my initial weight loss goal in the time I'd planned and now I have some catching up to do. I should be at my goal weight right now but I am far from it. Each day I am taking strides to get where I want to be and maintain a healthy weight.

Ok...fun stuff. The below was part of an ice breaker with one of my Spark Teams. Enjoy!

About me: I'm the oldest of three, so I'm always right...about everything! I'm a lifelong learner. LOVE getting new information. I also read ALOT. No, not intellectually stimulating volumes. Instead, I prefer gritty urban dramas. I get to be intelligent and articulate all day at work. In my free time I want to indulge in raunchy, ridiculous, mess! I'm an extreme introvert, but people are always drawn to me for some strange reason, so I have alot of friends. I know that sounds weird but bear with me. Being an introvert just means you get your energy from internal sources. External interaction and activity can be draining. It does not mean you always seclude yourself and you're always alone. So typically, after spending time with others, I just really need quiet time in order to recharge. Naturally observant, I'm slow to let others into my "circle". But over time, if I think it's a good match, a friend to me is a friend for life. I'm extremely loyal and fiercely protective. I'm the friend you know you can count on and you would come get me if anybody dares mess with you.
I've thankfully never had problems with emotional eating, binge eating, or even over-eating. My weight gain occurred from lack of consistent fitness activity, a sweet tooth, and regular (weekend) alcohol consumption. I also have a relentless sense of humor. Chances are I'm laughing with someone or at someone all the time, even when they have no clue. I'm a fan of effective and efficient communication. Basically, get to the point and say exactly what you mean in the process. I love supporting and encouraging others, and am very helpful when asked. However, I don't insert myself in things that are not my business, if not invited.

Ok, on to the ice-breaking activity:
ĄZ If you where on death row, what would you want your last meal to be? salmon, salad, hotwings, french fries, ice cream, double stuff oreos and Baileys

ĄZ What is your favorite salty snack? Fritos or roasted almonds

ĄZ What restaurant do you love even though you know you shouldn't? Cheesecake Factory

ĄZ What exercise do you absolutely hate? lunges, only because they hurt my knees badly

ĄZ Should sex be counted as intentional fitness minutes? nope, unless you don't like your partner and it's a chore!

ĄZ What habit would you like to be able to break? making others feel dumb when they say dumb stuff (I hate that I do that but I can't stop!)

ĄZ If you could be a professional athlete what sport would you play? Football; I can't throw or catch to save my life but I would love to SMASH people for money!

ĄZ What was your most embarrassing hair style? too many to choose from

ĄZ What music are you embarrassed that you like listening to? Or people would die laughing if they knew I used to listen to: none. I own who I am, good, bad and weird.

ĄZ If on a nude beach, would you partake? At my goal weight, absolutely! Right now, hell naw!

ĄZ What is the funniest gift you have given? A bath towel labeled BUTT on one side and FACE on the other. That was a knee-slapper!
