I've been having this feeling (you might want to put on the Black eye'd Peas "I gotta feeling" as a bit of mood music)...
I've had it for a couple of weeks..
it's hard to define but it's a positive feeling..
it's an expectation..
it's an assurance...
and it is effecting all my senses...
my focus is laser sharp..
my outlook is expectant...
I feel this "thing" deep deep inside..
I can't exactly describe it..
but when I look for words..
unstoppable and relentless come to mind..
closely followed by DONE..

I feel DONE..

not just done..
but DONE.. DONE DONE..
it's like a switch has been flipped..

no longer am I intimidated by the extra 100lbs I carry
I'm CHALLENGED by it!
no longer am I discouraged by the length of time it will take me to lose it
I'm FOCUSED on one day, one week, one month at a time!
no longer am I defeated by what I can't do,
I'm DOING what I can do
no longer do I feel like each attempt to move forward is like pulling a ton of bricks
I'm PROPELLED towards my goal
no longer am I feeling like I can't do anything right and everything is hopeless -
I can do ANYTHING and the hope is HERE and NOW not in the future somewhere..

This time is different. I'm different.

I'M DONE!

Thoughts about my success this time... 3/2/13 - current
Jason Seib of Everyday Paleo Lifestyle and Fitness Podcast said in answer to a question from a chick who was “stuck” in her weight loss and was using “cheat meals” to keep herself on track... “You are going to have to sit down and determine what is of more value to you... you say ‘if I don’t allow myself cheats, I go off track’ really means ‘if I don’t appease my sense of flavor with foods that I miss, I will momentarily find those foods to be much more valuable than my goals’.. in those moments you’re really saying ‘that looks yummy, screw my goals!’.. and those are choices, not a biochemical thing - you’ve made the decision to do that ... but when you decide that your goals are more valuable to you than your cheats, the cheats go away”

He articulated exactly how I have felt the last five months.. I have said over and over I haven’t had cravings but I have had “desires” for food.. and I would mentally weigh that momentary desire against the desire for bread, pasta, pizza, whatever - and because my goal was so clear for me.. because of the powerful image of me ziplining and climbing up on an elephant and diving with sharks that I plan on doing in Africa, THAT desire (my goal) was always much stronger than the desire to cheat myself out of those experiences by eating crap. My 1/1/14 goal of being in ONEderland doesn’t have the same emotion as my Africa goal.. because..well.. it doesn’t have a “face” to it... it’s just a number for a number’s sake.. so I’m really still searching for the next goal that will light my inner fire and create that burning desire that makes it basically easy to say no to cheesecake WITHOUT the feelings of deprivation or that I’m missing out.. HELL NO I haven’t missed out on any of the stuff I passed on these last five months and that will be proven in when I easily climb up on that dern elephant.. and when I am "allowed" to get on the zip line and scream my lungs out.. or as I get into that wet suit to dive with the sharks.. so lemme see.. which do I want more?? was really a no brainer! And to have cheated really would have only cheated me out of some experiences of a lifetime.

emoticon You have inspired me to re-explore kettlebell training and to check into cross-fit. I am working on my plan for 2014 and will need to plug into the grid here in Honolulu. Finding the right activity for me to love will be key.
