Goal weight 160ish back in 2000

Where I am going…
UPDATE: 8/25/2010 - Sorry, I was MIA for awhile. I became too "comfortable." Maintained my weight, but stopped chasing my ultimate goals. I needed to get my head on straight and regain motivation. I came to the difficult realization that perhaps I give up too easily. I put my needs in the backseat. Plus I have a tendancy to set big goals, and skip the smaller steps. What can I say…out of the strengths I have, patience is not one.
I am working to overcome my bad habit of self comparison. I tend to benchmark by my peers, which is not a true reflection of MY progress, as our goals are not the same. For me the journey is not exclusively about weight, or my relationship with food. It is also about developing the tools, habits, and confidence to strengthen who I am. To appreciate and love my body while focusing on what I want to achieve, instead of what I have not. Consistently being patient with myself, reasonable in my expectations, and more committed to the process.
I am a 29 year old single mother, to an awesome 8 year old boy. I would like to lose another 30lbs and work on overall toning. Manage the jiggle enough to dance around in my swimming suit and not think twice about how I look. I want to be carefree, and able to jump head long into the activities and life I love. I have been working my way back into running and biking. Added a new task to the agenda, joining a Karate black belt program with my son. To mix it up added Brazilian Jui Jitsu and kick boxing to push beyond my comfort zone. Hands down best work out EVER!
In the past I have been a pro at making all sorts of excuses as to why I don’t have time to make working out a consistent part of my routine. You know the drill….never enough money, time, and energy…Bottom line today is the only day we know we have for sure, so enjoy it! I have to make myself and my health a priority. If you want something bad enough you will make it happen, and create plan to eliminate (or work around) the roadblocks. This is a journey I am making for myself and those I love. I deserve balance, health, and happiness. I will do the work to make it happen. I hope to be on my way to goal by the time my 30th birthday rolls around in May 2011. Keep me honest!

2009: I have taken up running, finishing my first 5k in October 2009.
Fall 2007: Hello! I am 27 year old full-time marketing guru, grad student, and mother of a wonderful 6 year old boy. I have less than a year left of grad school so let the count down begin! My goal is to lose 40 lbs by next May.
I gained 70lbs between my pregnancy and my subsequent divorce. It was not just a shift in my weight but in my attitude. I have some work to do. I have lost a total of 40 lbs over the last few years, and I am ready to kick it into high gear and shed up to another 50 lbs.
170 is my first goal, then I would like to drop down to around 160 or 150 depending on what feels right.
First and foremost lose the weight and quit making excuses.
Be someone my son can be proud of.
Take the time to respect my body and my self image.
Buy the cute clothes I want to wear not the ones that fit!
Feel as beautiful on the outside as I am on the inside.
Have more energy and get back to doing the things I love.
Typical week I am doing some variation of the following...
Monday: Running (30 min) and Yoga/Abs/Pilates (60min)
Tuesday: Karate (1hr) and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (1hr)
Wednesday: Running (30 min) and Yoga/Abs/Pilates (60min)
Thursday: Karate (1hr) and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (1hr)
Friday: Running (30 min)
Saturday: Kickboxing (60min)
Sunday: Hiking/Biking, 30 Day Shred or other DVD
I love anything outdoors, photography, travel, poetry and music.

Kudos to you for joining us here on the Raw Foodies Team. This will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Sparkers come here and join this great team for a multitude of reasons. They may be curious about the health benefits of Raw Food and join to learn all about eating Raw. Many join for the weight loss. Many join the Team for a Detox. There are a great many people who do the Raw Food Diet as a Detox but then they realize how alive they feel and how the pounds melted away so effortlessly they decide to continue to eat this way. There are others who will join this Team for the health benefits of a Raw Food Diet. A diet based on raw food can reverse diabetes, arthritis (I personally have experienced this. I went off all of my arthritis meds after only a few weeks), heart disease, cancer (that is how I became involved with the Raw Food Diet when my sister was diagnosed with Lymphoma), eliminates migraines, the list goes on and on.
So join us and learn how to make the transition from SAD (Standard American Diet) to a healthy Raw Food Diet. You will be happy you did!

Happy BELATED Birthday, DONE GIRL
Tha Taurus woman is born to a mother she can never live up to, so she learns to be stubborn at an early age, so she can be her own person. She can have a weight issue as she loves the taste and smell of food & she loves to cook for others. But, she has the determination to do what she wants so she doesn't have to be fat. She often has a lovely singing voice & loves music.
As a Taurus, you are likely to be very patient, a hard worker, and one of those people who constantly puts forth much sustained effort. Your demeanor is slow and deliberate, and attempts by others to hurry you rarely succeed. You need time to adjust to new ideas and changes. You can be stubborn to the point of becoming rigid, but you are practical and constructive in nearly everything you do. You carefully consider options before starting any action or coming to any conclusion. You function best under conditions where there is predictability, and where you can exercise a degree of control.
Good-natured and friendly, your placid demeanor rarely shows upset or anger. When you are aroused, as suggested by the symbol of the sign, your reactions are very much like those of the angered bull. This anger can be reckless, and often lingers.
There is a certain reluctance in the Taurus nature to try anything new or different. You don't take many chances, and you believe in sticking with the familiar and comfortable. There is not much adventure in your soul, and it is probably fair to label you a conservative individual. The danger with Taurus is the tendency to become too narrow-minded, and to dismiss anything that can't be seen, touched, smelled or tasted.
You are not usually the first to learn a lesson, but when it is mastered, you are not likely ever to forget. Retentive and steadfast, you don't scatter your energies. You may be lazy at times, perhaps not spending any energy at all for extended periods. Yet long term, you are very willing to assume responsibility and shoulder more than your fair share of the load.
You may be materialistic, often showing interests in money, security, and comforts in life. To those you love, you often show your feelings in a material way, and you appreciate the same in return. The Taurus personality is sometimes too concerned with money and possessions. Perhaps a little indulgent and luxury-loving, you relish creature comforts and appreciate beautiful possessions. Because of these interests, you have good taste in clothing and furnishings. You also may have a talent for landscaping and working with plants and flowers to make your surrounding more pleasant and appealing.
You may excel as a cook, but even if you don't have the inclination to prepare it, you certainly enjoy food; perhaps too much. Because of this, you may have a battle with your weight. A slow metabolism and lack of interest in exercise often compound this problem.
A natural interest in art and music often leads to careers or hobby pursuits in some form of art. Taurus is the sign that rules the throat, so you may have a fine singing and speaking voice.
Love relationships are very important to you. Since you don't like being alone, you may settle for a partnership that is less than ideal, instead of accepting loneliness. Once settled in a relationship, you are very steadfast and dependable. You are exceedingly loyal, and make a very faithful friend. The most appealing aspect of Taurus, that sweet and loving temperament, is the often present when the Sun appears in Taurus.
