Here is my Day 1 photo. Looking forward to seeing a new image!
It has been a year since I joined Spark People and I was looking at my introduction and thought I should update it. I am 42 years old, married and have three GREAT kids of which the youngest is 18 and will be graduating this June. When I started a year ago I had intentions of being close to my goal by my daughter's graduation. But life being it's unpredictable old self threw some challenges at me that knocked the wind out of my sails. The hardest was losing my dad on July 21st. I will be honest, I just gave up and didn't care about getting healthy. But as my family has been healing, so have I and I have a renewed Spark. I won't reach my goal weight by June 2nd, but that's ok I WILL get there. So how about if I set my 10 percent goal for that day? I feel like I can accomplish that.
I have wasted so much time with the mindset that I can start losing the weight tommorow or next week and now it's time for me to stop making excuses and just start doing it. I'm finally realizing that I am not going to find some magic pill or potion on an infomertial that is going to magically make me drop this weight in a month; I am going to have to work for it and it's not going to happen overnight. But that's good because I want this to be a lifestyle, not a quick fix!
I am ready, so here goes! :)
1. To lose 108 pounds.
2. To be healthy and feel good when I wake up in the morning.
3. To be in control of my life.
My first goal is going to fe 5%. Then I am aiming for 10% weight loss goals(1-2 pounds per week). Breaking it up seems much easier to grasp than looking at 108 pounds.
5%: 13 pounds=250
1st 10% goal: -26=237 lbs
2nd 10% goal: -23=214 lbs
3rd 10% goal: -21=193 lbs
4th 10% goal: -19=174 lbs
5th 10% goal: -17=157 lbs

2012 Spring 5% Challenge
I am following the Spark nutrtion plan (staying within my daily calorie range), getting in my 8 glasses of water a day and entering all of my nutrition info everyday in my tracker.
I will get in at least 10 minutes of fitness every day and aim for 30 minutes on at least three days of the week. Walking, using dvds for strength training and yoga.
I will record my exercise and any other team points daily on my team's thread. I will weigh in every Saturday.
I will check in with my team streams and blogs daily and leaving comments as often as I can.
