I am in my mid-thirties and am working to undo years of workaholism and self-neglect. I work full time, go to grad school and am a poet working on my second book. I'm always juggling a busy schedule and often short-change myself when pressed for time. I joined this site a few years back to give my physical fitness the prominent focus it needs and deserves so that I can enjoy a long, healthy, active life with my husband.

My Goals:
My primary goal is to become more fit - tone up, improve my cardio, reduce stress, gain energy, etc. Secondary to that, I would love to lose some pounds.

My Program:
I started out biking to work a few times a week and mountain biking on the weekends with my husband. I've been watching what I eat more closely and trying to replace my poor eating habits with regular, quality nutrition. This winter I added rock climbing to my activities and have loved what it's done for my confidence, fitness and muscle tone. I also gave winter biking a try and loved it. I'm training for the Warrior Dash this summer and have added running to my regular workouts. In addition, I've decided to commute to work by bike, adding a couple hours a day of quality exercise to my increasingly active lifestyle.
