Hi All! I still am aching to get back on the mountains. I fell and hurt my tib pretty bad in October. Been wimping and pushing since. No doc, no pt, yet. I am preparing to push and strengthen that leg back again. Experimenting with many types of moves. There are a lot I can do now, YAY!
So enough of that junk! This is my first year being Granny and I am absolutely in love with my grandson! He is such a joy and his Mom is sooo Awesome too!! I have him while Mommy is working and we have hiked the Snow Hole out of Petersburg, NY, We went on the Battle ship tour at Albany, NY and met some great Navy Veterans there, We went to the Children’s Museum of Technology and Nature at Albany, NY, The Albany International Airport, We have been to several different parks in the basically 50 mile radius that we travel in as well as an Arbortorum at Ashville, SC When Mommy was in that wedding;).
I would like to get smaller as my grandson gets bigger, smaller before he knows I am bigger ;).
I have been Sparking daily and trying to find my groove. I have the Spark thingy which I have worn every single day since it arrived. I am on SparkCoach and I am doing that check in every day as well as the start page of SparkPeople every day. I was tracking daily for a few weeks, and stopped now long enough to know that I need to get back to tracking. I have been maintaining for 2 months now, time to kick back into gear…..
I have been watching other streakers stretching and reaching and I want to be a streaker! I pushed hard to get glow getter once (12000 steps)! It was Awesome! So I have decided to have that for my streak.
I want to be a Glow Getter Streaker!! I have reset my count to 4000 steps, which is ridiculously low, however I have managed over 4000 steps more than 50% in the last month, therefore, I plan to use this light base to achieve and build from. 12000 steps was realistic for me before my booboo leg and when I was able to get around without hurting my leg. Doc said it sounds like I bruised the bone and several months to heal. It has been 3 months, time to bring back a little more every day.
I realize as I track more activity and such the steps will come together. Also as I build the numbers on the tracker, I will increase the setting to a more realistic challenge.
Spring is just a bit away and I have bushes and trees to prune, trees to cut and firewood to stack, garden to plan and plant, house and garage to purge. Yep we will be busy and the steps will be jumping.
Hi All! I love hiking the woods and mountains in the northeast especially the Adirondack 46 peaks which my husband and I and some friends began to tackle. Last year we accomplished 4 of these magnificent mountains! So with all that hiking and work and the agony of recovery I did not lose any ounces??? Now I am toting yet an additional 10lbs since I lost my job 2 months ago. I am so seriously obese now it is affecting my gait and motion. I seriously need to get back to my normal before Valentines 2013 for my goal date. Today I just began the SparkCoach and will begin to see results finally. Thank you Spark!!! Also keep busy harvesting as of lately blueberries and blackberries from my yard renegade pumpkins are coming beautiful, celery and asparagus are doing great! Horse radish is awesome! Corn is coming great! Great garden this year! We planted a Honey Crisp Apple tree for our dog Duke who died in his sleep in June at age of 16. Darn beetles ravaged it so we will keep praying and see what it does in the spring. However the pumpkin gooseneck and zucchini we planted under the tree have already produced 3 goose neck for our dinner. Eggplant is just flowering having planted it late. Rhubarb is still coming. Tomatoes, Roma are just starting to color and pear and cherry tomatoes are beginning to harvest. And then there are the flowers. The Yucca i moved to between the Peonies all survived the move tho with no flowering this year. And the Amaryllis from Christmas is leafing out huge, still watching for a flower before the frost of August comes in...

I began as a very very active mountain country girl, always moving. @ 5'8" the 175 pounds was great healthy muscle with a flat stomach. Fat then was 180 which made my pants too tight. And skinny was 170 which made my pants too loose. Two babies in three years both delivered @ 215 was no problem. Still very active and easily back to normal size by losing an extra 10pounds put me a
@ 165. Then lots of changes including less activity and same diet and the pounds started adding up. A couple each year. The Doc said we won't worry about it now. Doc has finally mentioned that I should consider losing some weight. ???Ya THINK??? O.K. So now he is on the same page anyway. It just is sad that obeisety is not addressed before it becomes a disease factor for so many people. And I take full responsability for my fat tho I am so very frustrated that I even have soooo much......
I have seen the scales at near 280! I record my beginning at 275, pants size 24!
I have a wonderful husband of 4 years. My 31y daughter who is Mom of my first grandchild, Silas who is just a year old. My son 29y working on his Bachelors degree and working in his field of study. A garden, a cat and a goal to acheive a healthy weight and life style. I have maintained this extra hundred pounds just as easily as I used to maintain a healthy weight. The transition from that weight to this is a blur. I really never 'Saw' it coming to this extent but have maintained about 10-15 yrs. I really don't know how I managed the gain, but I am about to consciously recover my healthy weight and size.
