Hi, I really am looking for some additional motivation so that I stick to my fitness goals. I have completed a Learn to Run program, and competed in my first fun 5K run on Jan 1, 2007. I have run several 10k races and completed the Toronto Women's Half Marathon in May 2009. I was never athletic growing up, so that was a huge accomplishment for me. I would love to one day run a marathon, but being able to improve my physical fitness no matter what I am doing will be wonderful.

I would love to one day run a marathon, but being able to improve my physical fitness no matter what I am doing will be wonderful.

Since I began, I have also signed up for belly dancing lessons. I have participated in three recitals, wearing wonderful costumes and feeling like a star. It has been great for my confidence, and a lot of fun.

My Dad has become my greatest inspiration. He made two resolutions for 2008: to lose 65lbs, and to begin running so that he could run a 5K and 10K race with his kids. He is one of the few people I know to have actually clobbered their resolutions. My brother and I ran the Legacy 5K and Oasis Zoo 10K with my Dad, and I also ran the Breast Cancer 5K and Angus Glen 10K with him. Just before Christmas 2008, he dipped two pounds below his goal weight. He has since run two half marathons.

May we all be as successful in achieving our goals for 2010!

Thanks for stpping by my post-rae blog! I had a pretty good race. felt good in spots, bad in spots but overall I finished in a time that was better than projected and only possible because of the structured training we put in. It was a brilliant day for the race. It's a fun race!
