A Story of a Journey ... Just cold turkey

I began my original journey in March 2009 weighing 380#. I knew that I had been on so many "diet plans" in my life that I finally threw it all out the window and just began using a "portion control with a little extra protein and a little less sodium" and that is how I arrived to where I am today. I have had no surgeries, pills, shots, hypnosis, anything....only eating less! I don't count anything, calories, carbs, points, etc. I realize, ...

I realize, that now, they haven't and don't work for me. My style is.....I eat what is prepared at any time or any where......I just don't eat all of it! I have numerous disabilities that leave me unable to exercise only minimally. My doctor's tried me on a new medication for one of my issues which caused me to gain 42# back, but since then she has stopped that one and I'm on my road back down from there. I will not change "my journey style" as it works for me. I don't know how far down I will lose, but I leave it in God's hands.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love - 1 Corinthians 13:13

Did you know working out comes in many forms, and not all of them will leave you breathless and drenched in sweat? “Exercise doesn’t have to be spending an hour at the gym. Just get moving,” even if it's just for 10 minutes a day. “Take a dance class, go for a hike, walk the dog, or vacuum your house. It all counts!” So, yes, those late-night solo dance parties where you pretend you’re Beyoncé or Rita Hayworth are well worth it. Just get your body moving. Before you know it, you will have started a work out routine!

Snacking can make or break your eating plan. Eating the wrong snacks might mean that you end up ravenously hungry by your next meal, causing you to overeat.

Be sure to incorporate healthy snacks that contain plenty of fiber. You will want to plan them into daily allotment of calories.

This will make you a Smart Snacker! emoticon
