A Story of a Journey ... Just cold turkey

I began my original journey in March 2009 weighing 380#. I knew that I had been on so many "diet plans" in my life that I finally threw it all out the window and just began using a "portion control with a little extra protein and a little less sodium" and that is how I arrived to where I am today. I have had no surgeries, pills, shots, hypnosis, anything....only eating less! I don't count anything, calories, carbs, points, etc. I realize, ...

I realize, that now, they haven't and don't work for me. My style is.....I eat what is prepared at any time or any where......I just don't eat all of it! I have numerous disabilities that leave me unable to exercise only minimally. My doctor's tried me on a new medication for one of my issues which caused me to gain 42# back, but since then she has stopped that one and I'm on my road back down from there. I will not change "my journey style" as it works for me. I don't know how far down I will lose, but I leave it in God's hands.

The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment, it is not in luck or chance, it the desire within you to finish what you started unknown

We all have been given the gift of life. So take this gift and live it well by laughing more, smiling more and seeing what you have. Oh, how beautiful life is when we live with a grateful heart and share that heart with others. emoticon

I want to thank you so much for your encouraging words.
I am always blessed when something I have shared becomes a blessing to my reader.
I read your journey and you as well are such an encouragement to me. I see your progress of weight loss, and this encourages me, that the pounds can and will slip off.
I too love the old hymns. There is so much inspiration found within the lyrics. The music reminds me that there is a testimony and I am reminded of how we overcome, we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
