--Henry Miller

"Maybe chance is a pretty common thing after all. Those kinds of coincidences are happening all around us, all the time, but most of them don't catch our attention and we just let them go by. It's like
fireworks in the daytime. You might hear a faint sound, but even if you look up at the sky you can't see a thing."

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”

My Goals:
Continue to study and teach yoga!

Be as controlled and responsible about eating when out with friends and on weekends as I am during the week.

Ramp up my strength workouts so I am able to do more "fun" poses in yoga.

Rely on my body to tell me when I'm hungry rather than count calories.

My Program:
- I'm vegetarian, and I stick to whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
- I practice yoga several days a week.
- I rely on Spinning, running and walking for cardio.

Personal Information:
I've always been a fairly healthy eater, if you don't count the hours of midnight to 3 a.m. during college and the year and a half I worked on the night copy desk at a newspaper. I moved to Seoul, South Korea, in 2005 and spent a year teaching English essay writing to elementary and junior high school students. During that year, I lost more than 35 pounds. How did I do it? I walked or took public transit, lived on the 15th floor of a building with a sketchy elevator that liked to breakdown, and went out dancing every weekend. I ate sensibly, worked out a few times a week and generally lived a low-stress life. Koreans have a very healthy diet, and eating local foods helped me re-examine my own eating habits.

Other Information:
I speak French and a little Italian and Korean. I love to travel overseas (especially in French-speaking countries) and learn new languages.
I love to volunteer.
I'm a former newspaper reporter.
I'm going to Turkey in July.

Hi Stephanie, just read your story on the FABULOUS "Thin Mint Cookie".
Oh yes have i polished off a whole shelve of those delectable morsels...more times than I should have! They are soooo addicting and since they only come out once a year, they are even more special and mouth-watering.
Today as a mom of 2 boys who really don't care for my Thin Mints and would rather have the Samoa's, I take no chances and have been known to hide my Thin Mints in a vegetable bag. Kids and vegetables.... they would never look in a vegetable bag. If they ever knew :)
Frozen Thin Mints are a little bit of heaven along side a glass of nonfat milk.
Glad to know that they are so bad!
