Hi, I've been overweight for a long, long time. I see very obese people in wheelchairs and wonder 'what came first, the obesity or a disability' I fear that if I don't lose weight now, I'll be in a wheelchair within a few years. I absolutely don't want that, so I'm dieting and exercising daily to do all I can to avoid it.

My word for 2014 is Excitement. As part of a 'follow the star' Epiphany service at my church we were invited to pick a star with a word on it out of a basket--no peeking and no exchanging. The challenge was to post the star where it will be seen daily and to think about and pray about that word and what it means to us. I'm not sure what 'excitement' God has planned for me this year, but if I'm looking for and expecting excitement, I'm sure I'll find some.

My Goals:
My goal is to make healthy living my normal behavior.
1.. walk, walk, walk
2. strength training
3 eat right with lots of vegetables, fruit, fish, chicken and yogurt


My Program:
Fresh start on June 1, 2014. I've climbed the "stairs to success" and lost over 70 pounds but in the past months I've wandered off that stairway and have ended up on a slippery slope! That needs to change NOW. I won't let all that hard work go to waste.

Personal Information:
I am Mom to two adult children and Grammy to two boys and one girl.

I am a church musician. I play piano and keyboard.

Other Information:
Hobbies include knitting, spinning, weaving and pottery.

“Starting today, instead of saying "I have to" when discussing your actions or goals, substitute the words "I choose to."...
"I have to lose weight" becomes "I choose to lose weight." Saying "I choose to" puts you in charge and affirms that you want to see results.”
