The Adventures of Sparkle Pie

When people talk about "adventures" I have visions of swimming with dolphins, petting a tiger, backpacking through europe...but for me right now...my choice to make 2012 the year to make a "better me" is the adventure I am on.

Like most adventures, they change your life, your way of thinking and how you see yourself. This is just what I need!

dogs, cats, my partner, gardening (and miss it greatly since moving to az) anything with polkadots, earrings, vintage style, baking, cooking, moijito's, self help books, northern ca ocean, helping others, my unmatching set of coffee mugs, good earth tea original, recycled everything, art of all types, music and more music, trees, old stuff no one wants, my collection of vintage suitcases and thimbles and last but not least... I'm learning to love myself... how awesome!

My Goals:
I really don't know how much I want to lose as far as weight...I started at 251 earlier this year... and I thought gosh if I could just get back to 225 I'd be happy. (the lowest weight I remember being as an adult). But I've been inspired by sparkpeople and the people who spark and I feel the goal of 180 is reachable..maybe even more. For now that is the weight goal

My life goal..to change habits that I feel are unhealthy, from my ever worried state of anxious thoughts to my inability to de-stress and take time to enjoy life.

So my goals..in short are to make 2012 the year I start the journey to a better me.

And I'm sooo excited to make this happen.

My Program:
I am very eclectic and so my "program" is no different.

Basically...

Eat better by-

Increasing fiber
Smaller portions
Reduce trigger foods:
ice cream, fast food, fatty snacks
Smart swaps- using lower fat options, whole wheat options and any other exchange that is a heathly choice.

Get Active-
Walking, Biggest Loser DVD's, Gaiam stability ball workout, Sparkpeople workouts, kicking up the volume on my "home chore workouts" and pretty much just doing more than I did before.

Sparking-
Stay accountable by staying on sparkpeople. Refresh my motivation and motivate others. Use the resources to make the a lifestyle not another "good try" or fad in my life.

Being kind to myself-
While not directly a weight lose goal..A good part of y program is just treating myself better. Finding the time for me to enjoy life and feed my soul. This makes a more positive outlook which in turn makes all facets of this journey

It has been a while! I am remotivated. Thank God! I joined Planet Fitness and went once a week. Now I am excited to go more often. I really like it, and there is no pressure, but I feel better already. Eating better makes me fell better too. I cannot wait to have great salad with my favorites today and to pick strawberries tomorrow. I am healthiest in the summer. emoticon

I just wanted to say hi and tell you that even though I've been away from SP for the past several months (bogged down with work and stress) I am looking forward to ending the mighty-year-of-challenges that has plagued me this past year and start fresh soon... I may be still a bit scarce around here for the next little while but I did want to let you know that I've been thinking of you and hope you are doing well in life, in happiness, and in your journey.
