Born Again .... Building His Beautiful Temple

Been roller coasting all my adult life since my daughter's birth in 1981 -- want to finally make the commitment to take off that "baby" fat and keep it off! Making strides toward getting there!

My Goals:
I did not make my goal of 160 by my 60th birthday ... so am back to the drawing board! I currently need to lose 48.5 lbs to meet my goal. I can do it!!!

My Program:
I use a variety of programs really -- I am journaling all my food intake right now and have increased my exercise.

Personal Information:
I am originally from Missouri, but currently live in Clearfield UT.

Other Information:
My favorite quote is: God never ignores knee-mail! I love to read and have recently become acquainted with a fabulous author (by way of reading her books) - Lynn Austin. I highly recommend her series Refiner's Fire and Chronicles of the Kings -- totally awesome books with history and a Christian base.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog as well as for the good advice about the dressing. We had a great dinner. Good to hear you are coming back. I like sparkpeople because of the fact that this is hard to do alone. And here we are not alone.

It was nice to see a new face reading my blog. Thanks! I know... I think so many of us don't "fit" the diet mode. I read your page and having health issues makes it even more of a challenge. Another point I would have written into my blog is that as a Christian I should be treating my body as a temple and yet I feel the right to abuse it. I like your quote about knee-mail to God. For me one of my favourite quotes is "feed your body, not your disease". Have a great day, Justyna emoticon

Thank you for your thoughtful reply on my Positive Outlooks blog. You are right, the lessons or blessings are sometimes hard to see. But the more we practice, the better we get, right?

I think the best way to help your daughter is not to "tell" her, but to simply focus on being centered in compassion and gratitude yourself. As they say in Missouri, "show me". Let go of the idea of trying to change or fix her - the more attached you are to that, the more she will resist.
