Dieting is NOT a Piece of Cake
Hello fellow diet buddies. My name is Kathleen. I'm 54 years young and have been in the education field for 18 years as both a special education teacher and general education teacher. I'm from Northwest Indiana. Now that I'm working privately, part-time, I'm getting serious about taking some time for myself. I hope to improve my health and lose the many pounds I've put on taking care of everybody else. I think with support from a great site like this I'll be off to a good start. ...

My Goals:
To start, I hope to lose 50 pounds by September of '10. In turn this should help to lower my blood pressure, improve my general health and quality of sleep.
My Program:
I'm walking 4-6 days a week, counting calories, and making healthier food choices.
Personal Information:
I am recently retired from teaching and live in Indiana (about 25 miles from Chicago) with my husband. I have one son who is just finishing college, and a golden retriever. Two things I am currently working on include losing weight and becoming more proficient in technology. Learning to navigate this site is a challenge!
Other Information:
I love to travel, read, go to plays, fine dining and wine. Teaching children to read has been the most fulfilling experience of my life. My favorite saying is from Mother Teresa: What can ordinary people do to make the world a better place - Smile at One Another!
