I was skinny as a little kid. Seriously thin. When the third grade hit, I had a chest that most high school girls would be jealous of. Then the weight just started coming on, and it didn't stop. In high school, I weighed around 180 pounds. 5 years later, and I'm at 250 pounds. I don't know how it happened, but I just kept letting the pounds pile on. I tried diet after diet, and lost a few pounds, but eventually would give up on every one and just go back to my old habits. I AM DONE BEING THE FAT GIRL. I have promised myself that by 25 (I'm 23 now) I will be in the best shape of my life. I will be at a healthy weight, I will be in shape, and I will be be HAPPY. I've never thought I was very pretty (years of teasing will do that to a child and destroy your self esteem as an adult) but I am determined to gain back that self esteem and see myself the way that I should. I know it won't be easy, and I know it will take time, but I am ready to do this, and anyone who wants to join me will have my full support!

Currently I am following the 40-30-30 eating plan (For those of you who have never tried it, IT IS FANTASTIC!!!) It takes a lot of time to prepare the meals, and it may seem like you are eating the same things over and over, but once you figure out the math, you can turn any meal into a 40-30-30 meal. The best part about this plan is that if you have not been working out, you will still lose weight when you are not working out, and once you get back into a routine work out program, the weight will just come off faster!
I grew up in Washington, and have lived there my entire life, with the exception of 8 months I spent in Utah working. Now I'm back in WA (loving the green trees and the fresh air!!!) and I'm ready for a change!

Welcome to the group. We are so glad that you joined us! The emotional eaters team is a great place to be. It gives you the comfort and support that you need while losing weight/living a healthy lifestyle. I know that it works. I went from a 22 down to an 18 (which is starting to get smaller).
