Update 11/18/14: I've been on this site long enough to have read most articles, logged lots of exercise, and tracked plenty of food. And yet I still have so much to learn. I seem to get hung up every time I reach a new "low" weight and don't maintain it for long. I think it may be my inability to imagine myself at a healthy weight since I've never really seen it. I'm just grateful to have this site for every time I stumble. I'm always interested in new SparkFriends for the journey, too!

Update 8/1/09: Thanks to all who donated towards my 26.2 mile marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I walked it in 6hrs 18 min. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life!

Wilson is back to a healthy weight now! He's lost 13 pounds. I can't wait to reach my goal now, too!

I have my new rescue dog to thank for getting me exercising again. He's launched a renewed energy and drive for me to get in shape. I just wished it would have launched in the spring when there was plenty of nice weather and sunshine!

    Hello Spiff37, just in case you check your sparkspeople page, I thought I’d leave you a Hello, how are you doing these days. It appears that I’m not the only one that has been gone from SparksPeople site. I’m still walking and trying to get to the gym 5 days a week, I’ve managed to do activities by myself and get discouraged sometimes, I remind myself how I feel afterwards and I’m glad I did it. When all else fails, I’ve always got ‘Self- Motivation’, after all, it’s for me anyway! Hope you haven’t given up totally.

    Thanks for your comment! If you loved cycling as a kid then I encourage you to keep at it! There is a lot of joy in it once you get your cycling base fitness up a bit and that doesn't take long at all. Stop by and chime in or ask a question or two.
