Just trying to get healthy before 40 and needing some support. Like many overweight people, I used to be skinny and then my life just spun out of control and I really didn't care anymore. I didn't realize how big I had gotten until I really started seeing pictures of myself and other overweight people started referring to me as "big" in the same sentence as themselves. I feel like I have lost my 30's. What a waste. It's time to change.

Hey - was lurking on the Tattooed Women forums and it doesn't look like anyone answered your question about tats and weight loss ... I can't really give too much insight, but the guy who did all of mine mentioned that it takes REALLY big changes in weight to affect tattoos. Even two pregnancies hasn't completely destroyed the one I have on my belly, it's just a bit bigger and could use a touchup. And swings from 120 to just over 200 (and just about everywhere in between) have done just about nothing to ones on the upper thigh, lower back, and shoulder/upper arm.

BTW, I was doing C25k too, then backed off for injury/illness and restarted a few times - ended up doing my own thing with different intervals, and am now in love with running - it takes a while to get to the point where your body and mind like it. That said, if every second of it is miserable, then it's probably not for you - walking is awesome for you too and easier on the joints!

(i'm glad to hear your run went pretty well. ::smiles::

i think the most important thing to remember is to do what works for you. everyone always has their opinion on what's best but listen to yourself and your body.

i'm excited you guys are going to start running. maybe we'll be able to go for runs together as a group every once in awhile. jeanne will probably have to slow down so the rest of us can keep up, though. ::grins:: that girl is FAST!
