I gave birth to a wonderful baby girl at the end of July '07 and had trouble taking off the weight afterward. A friend pointed me toward SparkPeople, and it worked! Now I'm trying to stay at my goal weight and generally keep my lifestyle healthy. In addition, I've found that I'm still unhappy with my shape even if I'm fine with my current weight, so I'm trying to do some toning on my "trouble spots", particularly my belly.
I've just changed my exercise schedule up. My goal is to stick with it for six weeks (to begin with) while maintaining my current weight. And theoretically measurements, but I'm actually hoping that my waist will start going down as my abs tone up.
Attempt to eat healthy, several small meals throughout the day. Exercise 20 minutes Monday through Thursday morning, 10-15 minutes of yoga or stretching on Friday mornings, and 30 minutes on weekend mornings. (I alternate between cardio and strength Sat-Thurs.) Try to maintain a reasonable level of activity throughout the day.
I live in Bloomington, Indiana with my husband, daughter, and two cats. I program computers for a living and enjoy all the usual sorts of things--reading, writing, surfing the web, listening to music.
Thanks for the comment on my blog! It was a shock to get them on, let me tell ya, lol. Now I don't feel quite as bad about going on my trip as I did a couple days ago.

Thanks for the support on my blog, and the recommendation on the calendar! I've printed it out with a couple of others, and will ponder over them this weekend. I just need to find someway to get out of this funk and hopefully this challenge will help. It's a terrific idea!

Thank you for your thoughtful response to my blog. Unfortunately the emphasis on disregarding the scale was added by the DailySpark editors. So, I'm amazed at the number of comments that mention the scale. It was not the focus of my article. The heart of my article was how we treat ourselves. I use my scale and have no intention of tossing it. As other comments have said, 'It's a valuable tool." I'm sorry the editors changed the focus by changing the title of my blog. Thank you again. Thanks for your vote of confidence. I'm going to talk some more with the gal today and see just what she wants with this thing, then I'll consider it some more. The big thing that's holding me back, is that I don't like to draw attention to myself (old self-defense mechanism left over from HS). Here on Spark, I have anonymity to hide behind, but if I write an article, that's gone.
