Let's get this party started!
Oh Wow! It's been a year now on Sparkpeople and I've made some good changes in my lifestyle. Now I have to work on consistency - that is my big downfall. I have rid myself of the fast food addiction which was huge for me as I ate out 7 - 10 times a week. Now I eat at home 90% of the time making food from scratch. But somehow the scale hasn't moved much this past year and I've been stuck around the 200 mark gaininng and losing the same 5 pounds over and over again. Very ...
Oh Wow! It's been a year now on Sparkpeople and I've made some good changes in my lifestyle. Now I have to work on consistency - that is my big downfall. I have rid myself of the fast food addiction which was huge for me as I ate out 7 - 10 times a week. Now I eat at home 90% of the time making food from scratch. But somehow the scale hasn't moved much this past year and I've been stuck around the 200 mark gaininng and losing the same 5 pounds over and over again. Very frustrating. So this year - it's kicking up the fitness. Spring is coming soon and I"m going to start walking outside again. I lost some muscle tone after stopping my DVD workouts so those are coming back into the mix. My goal this year is to shed 40 lbs. That's 20% of my current weight. I'm going to do it smart. Real food - watch the portions - Eat to LIve and all that jazz. Getting moving again will be the key. I love to be outdoors. I love going to the cabin as often as possible to just be out amongst the trees, to gaze at the lake and watch the animals and birds do their thing. I used to be a big athlete in high school and into my 20"s but got lazy in my 30"s and some 20 years later here I am with 75 extra pounds to lose.... This is my year... enough " practicing losing weight" now it's time to do it..... LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Goals:
Eat healthy and be kind to myself and others. Lose 40 lbs this year. Get into a BMI of overweight instead of obese. Be active 4 days a week. Spark everyday.
My Program:
I started last April and I was down 30 lbs then put back a few during a month of sloth in October- for the next 6 months over the winter I got a fitness pass and will work out - walking or swimming 3 times per week. I plan to stay in my 1200 - 1400 calories a day range with a splurge meal every other week. I prepare most meals at home so I eat clean 90% of the time. I am big on getting my 8 hrs sleep and 8 glasses of water a day.
Personal Information:
I live in St Andrews MB Canada. I'm 51 years old, married and recently started my own business. I love walking and strength training - bob harper workouts and swimming. I have a passion for Motivational Interviewing.
Other Information:
My favorite place to hang out is our cottage in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. I love the outdoors! I'm also an avid reader and head to the library weekly to get my next fiction fix!
