One small step at a time!

Hi everyone! My name is Stacey. I discovered Spark in Jan 2013. At this point I am more ready, willing, and able to get healthy than ever before! I am a 38 yr old wife & mother of 3 busy boys (ages 9, 7 & 4). I am also a cardiac nurse. I was always "skinny" but that changed after marriage & three 40 lb pregnancies. I have tried to lose weight many times in the past decade but never "stuck" with it. I have definitely put the needs of my family before mine but am ready to put myself first this ...

I have tried to lose weight many times in the past decade but never "stuck" with it. I have definitely put the needs of my family before mine but am ready to put myself first this time. That will be a challenge which is why I love how Spark helps you make small lifestyle changes by focusing on short term goals. I am truly optimistic & the hope I feel brings tears to my eyes. I am tired of being unhappy with my body! Thank you!

Hi Stacey!
It was nice to hear from you today! Of course I completely understand your reasons for not doing the nightly goal setting. You have a WONDERFUL plan for getting yourself on a track that is more comfortable AND effective. The stress/hassle of daily goals is not what you need. It is more than a little bit possible, that a switch in that area would do me good as well. I appreciate your willingness to stay in touch just to "chat" and offer support.

Have you got a definite plan of attack for the sleep goal? I know that proper rest is VITAL for success in every area of our lives. I am proud of you for starting there! That will not be the easiest mountain to conquer, but it is the foundation of all the others. You are a smart cookie choosing that. Between your smarts, your determination and the fact that you are a true WINNER, I am super excited to hear how you wrangle that victory. I KNOW you will! Be warned, I may steal some ideas as you go along. LOL

Today was better for me. It wasn't GREAT, but it was still pretty good. I may have spent too long devising my new plan to "Shake It Up". In the end, I actually came up with something I am kind of excited about. It is my "Shake It Up System" LOL I guess we will see how it goes.

By the time I had finished the little bit I did around the house, enjoyed a surprise visit from my son, devised and used my new plan to get some ST done, although my personal skies had begun to clear, the weather outside had gotten worse. Mother Nature vetoed my walk this evening. I am not thrilled about that as it is the third night in a row we have not gone. However, the freshness and anticipation of my new plan kept me upbeat about making tomorrow (and each day after) a little bit better than this one.

I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday, emoticon You certainly deserve it!!

Folks come and go on SP and activity levels vary greatly. My own friend list just keeps getting smaller and smaller as I constantly update and delete inactive and/or uninvolved "friends." But, I'd treasure 5-10 supportive, active, friends over 100+ virtually nonexistent ones.

YOU are a TREASURE!

And, I just wanted you to know that you are one friend/reason why I stay on SP!! I really appreciate your consistent support and interest in my journey.

I'm here for you as well!!

Michelle does love camping drama, lol. That was a little too much for me. I had a terrible night that night. The 5 min. that I did sleep, I dreamed that my oldest who was with me at the fire had a problem and was screaming at me and I woke up all in a sweat and freezing and couldn't sleep anymore.
We were able to keep the youngest off of the dirt bike. He never even asked and the boy and his parents didn't offer, so it worked out well. My oldest would never ask anyway, so he wasn't a concern.
I'm so glad that you are back. I really missed you. Several times I wanted to just get your opinion on stuff before I left. I can't remember what it was other than the dirt bike thing, but I remember thinking I wish Stacey was online, she would help me.
I'm glad that you had a good camping trip and a good birthday. That's nice. We didn't have any rain, but some of our best camping trips we were stuck in the camper with nothing to do but talk to each other, play games and drink coffee and hot choc. You'll be an old pro at it next time you go out. Do you go to the mountains?
Enjoy your night-get some good rest.--M--
