Third Times A Charm

So here I am.....yet again - trying to convince myself that this time it'll work - this time I'll lose the weight and change my life.

What's different this time? This time I'm tired.....I'm tired of feeling sore, I'm tired of my knees & back hurting all the time, I'm tired of having to shop in specific stores, I'm tired of the sideways glances I get from my family during a meal - you can almost hear the internal dialogue "should she be eating that?, should we say something? ...

Well, I do know - I see it now....maybe I've seen it all along and have blocked it out - trying to tell myself that it didn't matter when really it does.

This isn't my first time trying to loose weight...hell this isn't even my first time on Sparkpeople - but this time I'm making a change - this time I'm committed and it's going to happen.

Thanks for the comment on my blog Stephanie! I'm glad I get something right once in awhile ;) lol. Hope you're having a great day! And btw, super congrats on the NSV!!! Sweetness to get into smaller clothing...isn't it awesome?!!! Love it!!! Its just so wonderful & weird at the same time! I still look at pictures and wonder is that really me? Have I really reached this far?! But when I just put on my former sizes and the fact that they fall down tells me so :D lol! You're doing AWESOME and have come so far...keep it up girl! Something *amazing* is happening...all because you are choosing to let it! emoticon Keep on!

I like the idea of employers encouraging fitness. My employer offers several discounts on gym memberships, but my schedule isn't conducive to their hours. I've often thought how great it would be to have a workout/fitness room somewhere within the building. So, I'll stick to my lunch hour walks, mid-shift planks, and at-home workouts.

Okay, so here's my planking story...

I didn't have time to plank it up the other morning before I left for work, so when I thought I had a moment when I'd be undisturbed, I dropped to the floor in the small room I was working in. A few co-workers happened by, looked in the window and thought I was having a seizure or had passed out or something and started knocking! HA! When I explained what I was doing, the one guy rolled his eyes and walked away saying "Ugh, sounds like exercise." emoticon
I guess some people don't "do" exercise wherever and whenever they can work it in. emoticon

I like the idea of only 25 minutes. I've taken to shorter workouts, too, for now at least. I've found a bunch on FitnessBlender.com that work well for me. I also dig their search function that allows you to choose workout type, difficulty level, calorie burn goal, and more.

Speaking of work, remind me to tell you my planking story from yesterday. For now, I gotta jet.

Laterzzz... emoticon

I dig the diversity of your exercise regimes! emoticon
Sounds like you made the best of it while you were without power. Who knew you'd be able to have that kind of mini-adventure to round off 2013? :) I figured my kids would have a virtual meltdown without the tv, or more specifically, the internet! My daugher, especially!
emoticon I'm totally down with the board games! Good times!

I work in TV Operations, so I can't work from home. So, yup -- I do that commute every day that I work. It's shift work, though, so I don't work Mon-Fri. It's a 12-hour shift, two-week rotation of days and night shifts. Not the most healthy lifestyle. On the upside, I work with good people, the job and pay are good, and the atmosphere is pretty cool. :)
