in order of priority: finish La Parienne 6k in September 2011, run the whole 6 km, not finish last in my age group.
did all 3.

less than a 14 min-mile: nov 13 2011
less than a 13 min-mile: jan 9 2012
less than a 12 min-mile: apr 6 2012.

run & finish the Royal Park Half Marathon in London, Oct 7, 2012. 2:40:57 (12:06 average pace)

Proudest of: kept exercising after running injury this summer, went back to running (Galloway, this time) and still love it. Galloway might even have more endorphins, and i need to learn to accept that being the most macho (i can run without stopping to walk) is not always best for me -- plus i think i'll be faster with it!

My Goals:
NEW goals:
be able to do a half in 2.5 h and therefore be able to do the Firenze Vivicitta half.

run faster: Is a 10-min mile possible for me? stay tuned.

maintain weight (around 49-52 kg)
continue ST and lose a couple of inches from my waist (2 to 4)

find at least one other fun form of cardio that fits into my life and is not too dangerous for a klutz (that is, i'm not going to try rollerblading again).

to find some family exercise we like to do together (and that we can do more often than what we all adore: visiting Italy).

work out enough to feel the endodorphins.

work at destressing my work (free-lance translating/editing): learn to say NO.

My Program:
tracking my food most days, continuing to eat most of the things I like and drink wine ... but in reasonable quantities. fortunately I adore vegetables and a lot more fruit than I knew.

run 3 days a week. for now, videos with ST and cardio for crosstraining days, though i would like to go back to aquagym if i can find the time.

yoga: beginner's class once a week with DD, seniors class once a week (free!), and runners' yoga when offered.

do strength training videos on SP. am up to 4-kg weights. also using a stability ball, which i love.

Personal Information:
New Yorker living in Paris since 1984. translator.

Other Information:
i'm very short: 5 foot 1/4 inch. now i feel petite and not just short!
I stole this quote from Princess Amoura:
"No matter how slow you run you are still faster than someone sitting on a couch!"

finding the time for ST is the pain (or the bain) - sometimes i sneak it in during my work hours, sometimes i've done a video right when we return from the run before lunch. and last night i forced myself to just get it done. next week is the journey to sweden, it's going to be a test… emoticon

Thanks for stopping by. I make the lists to keep focused, but.....it's not enough.

Will just resolve to push harder. Hope you find your way through, too.

Best,

Nu

Thanks for visiting my "Rebuilding Little Stumpy" blog. I did not buy the high-dollar Shimano XT components for Little Stumpy.

Shimano XT and SRAM XO are perfection in terms of price, durability and performance. However, the Deore level is pretty nice. Here is comparisons of the component level.

In the Shimano component line from Top to Bottom include:
(I have included the price for rear derailleurs at each level for comparison.)

XTR - Pro Level (2 x10, 3x10 and 1x11) $270
XT - Race Level (3x9, 2x10 and 3x10) $140
SLX - Sport Level (3x9, 2x10 and 3x10) $110
Deore - Enthusiast Level (3x9, 2x10, 3x10) $67
Alivio - Active Level (3x9) $50
Acera - Recreational Level (3x8 or 3x9) $36
Altus - Entry Level (3x7 or 3x8) $26
Tourney - Low Entry Level, (3x6, 3x7 or 3x8 ) $17

I am not going overboard with Little Stumpy. But I am not going cheap either.

Thanks, Bruce

Thanks for your nice comment on my "Bike Fest" blog. There is always a fine line between adventurous and crazy. I flirt with crossing that line all the time!
