I maxed out at 230 back in 2000, and I don't EVER want to see THAT number again! When the Barenaked Ladies' Ships & Dip Cruise came up (booked in early 06 for Jan 07 sailing), I knew I needed to do something. I lost about 30 lbs before that cruise, and lost the rest after the cruise. On May 10, 2007, I met my FINAL goal of 155 pounds, and went into maintenance mode! During nine months of maintenance, I actually managed to lose another 10-ish pounds, but I am still in a healthy range for my height, with a BMI of 22.6. Thanks, SparkPeople!
For the MANY MANY people who have asked me, it took me 7 months to get to my goal weight, which you can see by comparing my join date with the date I reached my goal. Thanks!
I've added some NEW cruise pics to my gallery from Ships & Dip III (the second BNL cruise, Jan 08), so check them out! I actually got to wear my 1992 Senior Prom dress to "Green Dress Formal Night" on the ship! Even I am amazed! LOL! I am now the same size I was when I was SIXTEEN! Holy moly!
September 25, 2007 -- I've officially been a member of SparkPeople for a year now. I never thought I would be maintaining for 5 months at this point! Woo!
January 4, 2008 -- It's a new year, and I have been maintaining for almost 8 months! Yay!
February 9, 2008 - Nine months maintaining! Woo! I was "Skinny Minny" for the Ships & Dip III Cruise this year. LOL!
May 9, 2008 - Maintaining for one year! WOO!
April 22, 2009 - Have gained a little back, and am working on getting rid of it again. I still consider myself mostly maintaining, though. :)
January 4, 2010 - Definitely NOT maintaining anymore. Time to get back to basics. I don't "do" New Year's Resolutions, so let's call it "A Plan." HAVE to get rid of 25 lbs. Still better than 65, but I am not happy.
September 2, 2011 - Gave birth to my daughter, Cora Elaine, on July 23rd. Now that I have recovered, I can get back to exercising. I am also breastfeeding, so that should help me lose weight, as well!
January 12, 2013 - Well, I said I didn't want to see 230 again... too bad! Here I am. *sigh* It's sitting on my differently than it did before, but the number is still the same. Working my way back to 170, slowly but surely, trying to fit in workouts around my mommy schedule. No more 2-hour workouts! 30 minutes or less. That's all I get. LOL!
My original goal was 170, which I met on 3/1/07 -- I set a new goal to go another 10 pounds, and then set another to go five more. At first that sounded low, but now that I am there, it seems realistic. In the end, though, what matters is that I can get to a good weight that I can realistically maintain, and be healthy.
On May 10, 2007, I reached my end goal of 155 lbs, and went into maintenance mode.
On September 25, 2007, I reached my one year anniversary, with almost 5 months of maintaining. My weight seems to want to stay around 147-150.
On March 10, 2008, I reached my 10-month milestone. I seem to have settled in the 144-146 range for weight for quite a few months now.
Update 6/22/09 - I've gained a little back since I stopped working retail, and hope to get down to -- and stay around -- 150. :)
Now that I have moved into a house, I no longer have access to a "free" gym, like I did in my apartment! So, I walk 2 miles through my new neighborhood 4-5 days a week, and follow it up with 30 minutes of EA Sports Active for the Wii! Sparkpeople has helped me eat the right amount, drink enough water, and cut back on my sodium. It's all working!
Born and raised in New Jersey (you can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can''t take the Jersey out of the girl!), but living in Rochester, NY, USA. I have my own graphic design business, Suebee Designs, and also work part time at the local Advertiser paper in the design department. I like to crochet and make jewelry, among other crafts. I make custom jewelry for both BNL fans and rat fans.
