2011 The Year to Do it!

Hi my name is Sue and I've been on spark People since March 2006. I've been happily married for 16 years and have 2 children 14 and11 year old.

I've been on this journey for the past 5 years and I have to remember slow and steady wins the race. This is very hard for me because for the past 15 years I was able to lose weight and maintain 120 lbs. I did this through running. My Goals:
My main Goal is to run a marathon in under 4 hours. I would love to qualify for Boston, but have yet to make the 3:50 time. I would be thrilled with a 3:50 but need to be realistic and make the 4 hour marathon first! My other running dream would be to run a marathon in every state! I'm working on that one!

My Program:
I am training for the Rock N Roll San Diego. I plan on running a race at least once a month.

Personal Information:
I am 43 and am from San Diego. I love the beach, water skiing, swimming and anything in the sun.

Other Information:
My favorite things to do is sit on the beach with a good book, running with friends, being with my family! I like to be around people.

Hey Sue,
Are you signed up for any races? I am thinking about doing the Carlsbad full in 2012. I think I am going to sign up to do my long runs with with their running group...

I did the Mud Run this past Sunday, so I missed out on R&R. Did you run it?

I have to warn you, I don't talk and run. I view running as more of a solitary activity. I really have to come out of my comfort zone when Kamryn runs with me, because I have to keep her focused and motivated... Makes my run tougher...

That being said, I'd love to meet up for a run, although things have been slow going for me. It has been tough trying to get used to my new $500 inserts...

Does your Camryn like to run or hike? Perhaps we could do Cowles or Torrey Pines...

I actually signed up for The Mud Run, which is the same day as R&R. I am looking for a full to do later in the year. A friend of mine is looking into doing The LA Marathon, so I might try that one. I am hoping to do a couple half's this year as well.

I had that injury to my foot, then as I was starting back my kids and I got sick. We still have the cough, but i think I may try an easy run tomorrow. it has been a tough road back. That is for sure...

I am actually competing in a biggest Loser Contest. We are half way through, 6 weeks remaining. So far so good. I am really hoping to step up the cardio and get down a bit more for the second half... Motivation and consistency is key for me...
