Hello, my friends.

Welcome to my Spark page. I am living and working in Houston with my family, which consists of me, my wife and two Chihuahuas named Xena and Gabriella, now instead of on the road doing full time ministry. We bought a new house about a year and a half ago so this is home.

It was challenging and seemed to take more faith to land than it did to live by faith and go from place to place. After we landed, I got focused on working and adapting to a much different lifestyle again and my weight went up and up. I tried this and that, but nothing seemed to be working.

I finally got desperate enough to really do something about it. A friend told me about OA - HOW meetings and how she lost 100lbs last year. She definitely had my attention. I started going to meetings and following their food plan. The happy result is that I have released over 40 lbs so far. I still have 10 or 15 to go but I am feeling good about myself and the direction I'm going. I still enjoy walking, but now it's before work beside the bayou. I joined the gym at work - mostly for the sauna and shower, but I have been telling myself that strength training would be a good idea so that's probably coming.

I'm still a minster at heart, but that's mostly local instead of traveling around the country now.

Life is good!

Susan - oh how your melodious rendition of happy birthday resonated with my own singing skills. It was really quite lovely and put a big smile on my face. I'll be looking forward to that next year :-) Hope you are having a successful day! Cat

Today is Thankful Tuesday ..so be thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.

    - unknown

And by the way, I am thankful for YOU!
