Grandmother - College Student - I want it all!

In May 2012, I will graduate from community college, and transfer to a university in the fall. When I get there, I intend to do it all -- in spite of my advanced age. I might even try out for cheerleading!

My Goals:
I would like to lose 30# by my community college graduation in May (my doctor says that's safe and doable with my starting weight) and get off my blood pressure medication. Eventually, I would like to lose 68-75#.

My Program:
High protein diet with plenty of vegetables -- not low carb, but avoiding the white stuff. Work out at least three times a week, and walk or do yoga on the "off" days.

Personal Information:
I am from a small town in Northern Virginia, and returned to live here three years ago.

Other Information:
I'm very opinionated, and I was snarky waaay before snarky started being cool.

Thank you so much for the comment you left on my blog. I miss my little boy so much. I figured what I would do was make a blog and write down all the good and naughty :) things about him because I want to remember it all. I did that with my last dog that died 12 years ago and it comforted me.

Welcome to Spark! July will be my 7 year anniversary here. My health and fitness goals have changed over time, but I finally got what I wanted and met my weight goals about a year and a half ago. I wish you the best on your journey of finding what works for you!

Thanks for the comments on my blogs! I found the compost bin on a website called WoodlandDirect. They have a section for composting.

I'm pretty new to gardening - I've only had patio gardens where I've been limited to certain things. My husband and I recently purchased a house, so I'm taking the leap into a raised bed garden with more space! I bought three different varieties of tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapenos, and a half dozen herbs. I'm starting with a small batch while I learn about this new-to-me process. I'll be documenting as I go, so please feel free to offer any tips!

Today is going better for me, even if it is raining. :)

If you don't mind, I'd like to add you as a Sparkfriend. We seem to have similar interests from gardening to college later in life!
