What doesn't kill you makes you stronger has been my theme for 2015. I suffered a fall with severe injuries in December of 2014 while attending a concert in St. Louis. I am slowly but surely making my way back to health and fitness and now time to get rid of the extra weight I have picked up during recovery. I still am seeing several specialist regarding the injuries, one of which was a hematoma on the brain. I have a CT this week so praying and hoping the Neuro Surgeon tells me it is ...

I am getting ready to start the Spring 5% Challenge and see this as just the beginning of a new journey.

I love Spark People and am so happy to be back and happy to have a challenge waiting for me.

My Goals:
I had a major fall/injury the end of December 2014 and have been recovering since. I am finally getting stronger and getting back to my exercise and diet. My Word for 2015 is STRONGER so am working on being Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually stronger this year and Glorifying God in the process.

My Program:
A good mix of Cardio and Strength training along with Nia dancing will be my program. DH and I have started on The Carb Cycling Program and have already had some good results.

Personal Information:
I live in Northeast Missouri - just north of Hannibal, Mo and Just east across the Mississippi River from Illinois. I love to fish and I raise hybrid sunflowers.

Other Information:
I am a Christian and know that He wants the best for me. My Joy is directly related to how grateful I am today and how I express that gratitude.

I have a very unhealthy relationship with food so this works great for me...it's actually really simple...I start eating at 11am and I am done eating by 7pm...I consume no calories outside of that time frame...I am allowed zero calorie beverages, coffee, tea, diet soda and zero calorie flavored water and water enhancers and of course water...

Ashley Barnes is the author of The 16-Hour Diet it is on sale on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.com...What is great is after I bought her book she lead a challenge group to help us learn more about it for free.

But the concept is by fasting longer than 12 hours is that your body burns stored fat for energy. Almost all my workouts are fasted also which allows my calories burned to also come from stored fat. Besides weight loss, I have lost 3% body fat and over 10 inches from my waist, abdomen, hips and thighs (I never loss inches off my thighs)
