My Journey to a Healthy Lifestyle

Hi! I am married with 2 children. This is my journey to healthier living. I want to continue to lose weight and reach my optimal weight and health. I want to live a long healthy life and be a great role model for my kids! I've kicked sugar (and it's substitutes) out of my life! Whew, that was a big one!

“There's no secret to getting started. You simply decide and then take your first step.
With each subsequent step, the next one becomes easier...”

Thanks for stopping by.
Yep... lost 74... gained back 40 by listening to all the shakes, wraps, and other fads about health. There are two things that work for me.
Diet and Exercise.
and the exercise that works is running. Yes, it takes longer.. but the results are better. At least in my case.
Rock on... and best of luck with your journy too! emoticon

"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.
Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential. "
~Ellen Goodman

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation.
Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.”
-John C. Maxwell

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true -- action precedes motivation. You have to prime the pump and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."
- Robert J. McKain

The Healthy Holidays Challenge team is still going strong, and we still have time to make some progress before New Years Day! If you're not feeling motivated to workout and eat right today....do it anyway! Be your own hero and take charge. You will likely feel motivated after you get started. I know I don't have to remind you that you're worth the effort, right?
Hugs,
Pixie

"It is rewarding to find someone you like, but it is essential to like yourself.
It is quickening to recognize that someone is a good and decent human being, but it is indispensable to view yourself as acceptable.
It is a delight to discover people who are worthy of respect and admiration and love, but it is vital to believe yourself deserving of these things."
~Jo Coudert

If you see a fat man…
Who’s jolly and cute,
wearing a beard
and a red flannel suit,
and if he is chuckling
and laughing away,
while flying around
in a miniature sleigh
with eight tiny reindeer
to pull him along,
then lets face it…
Your eggnog’s too strong!!!
