Greetings from France

Having discovered I was diabetic at the age of 53 and gaining over 3 stone after going onto insulin, I have decided that I will not let my illness control me. Although it is difficult to lose weight when on insulin, the more weight I can lose the less insulin I will need, giving me more control.

My Goals:
want to be 150 by 26th July, doing well and sure to reach goal.

My Program:
Besides using the food tracking on SP I also exercise on a daily basis. I am fortunate in having a swimming pool and I do try to swim daily no matter what the weather.

Personal Information:
I am 61 years old and have retired early with my husband to SW France. We have a wonderful life here although I miss my daughter and 2 grandsons back in England.

Other Information:
When I swim I like to listen to music on my waterproof Ipod. I don't know if I will ever grow out of it but I love people like Lady Gaga, Will.i.am, Maroon 5 etc and love dancing like a loony. Hope I never grow out of it.

I like reading and at the moment I am into forensic science type books, like those of Tess Gerritson, Kathy Riechs and Nikki French. Try as I might I cannot get to like Patricia Cornwall even though she is classed a the queen of this genre

I added you as a friend. I hope that was okay!!

I see we are the same age. I turned 61 last march. Still trying to process that age. Sure don't feel like it. I look at my grown children and say who are these strange people in my house? Surely they can't be my sweet little babies. But sadly and way too quickly they seem to have grown up!!

Have a lovely Friday!!!

You are the recipient of the Beautiful Person Award!!

Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the page of 8 People who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out!

Again, Congratulations Beautiful

You can do whatever you set your mind to! Blessings!

I was looking for those books but won't bother now. I like medical examiner type mystery.
I am reading a book about the Tarahumara.
I read Cromwell over vacation and honestly can't even remember which two I tried but I kept having to reread. I keep falling asleep reading in bed and that is slowing down the amount of books I am able to read. Thanks for letting me know about the earlier books. Were they romance? I will read a Norah Roberts once in awhile. I respect her but don't bother with that genre. Nice to chat- good to see someone I can talk to if I find a book to talk about. Karin Sluaghter?! great name emoticon will check that out.

I love Tess Gerritsen. I don't know why Patricai Cromwell is liked. Tess knows her stuff and I cannot put her books down. I also like Jeffrey Deaver too. It has been awhile since I read any fiction. Lately been into non-fiction
