Love2Run Love2Run Hi! I'm Sharon and I started running after I had my son at the age of 35. Moving to the Florida area, I invested in a jogging stroller and ran for hours along the Bay. I ran my first Race,
The Gasparilla Classic Long Distance 15K and ever since got the Running Bug. I have met so many runners and at that time, mother's with children and jogging strollers. I ran my first Marathon, Gulf Beaches and did the best time ever. I was 9 minutes from qualifying for the ...

I ran my first Marathon, Gulf Beaches and did the best time ever. I was 9 minutes from qualifying for the Boston Marathon. I have a one time goal to run that, hopefully 2012. 2011 has been an unusual year for me, very challanging as I'm sure with everyone.
I am so Happy that my friend told me about SparkPeople. All of the tools have really motivated me and kept me on track.
Keep on Sparking! It's my way of LIFE and I Love it!!
Sunshine Coming Your Way!
Update 5/2014: A few years ago I had surgery and have not gotten back to Long Distance Running. Last year I started training for a 10 K and got sick in September 2013 for two months. By the time I was well again it was too cold for this Florida Gal, now here in NC. I have been walking and doing some running. I also have been doing lots of Cardio DVD's and Weight Training. I still have my goals to get back to running. Determination= Victory!

Hopefully, you are warming up a bit. My trick is to wear my windbreaker under a sweatshirt with a hood, then if it's colder I will wear a vest over that to keep the core warm. I was out in 32 degrees and windy yesterday, and I wore two cold weather wicking shirts under the windbreaker. I have shorts to keep my buns warm under cold weather tights. I must look like a fright, but I did 10K comfortably. I will do my shorter training runs on the treadmill. Layer, Layer, Layer.

I am counting the days until I can run in Tucson in December!

After Thanksgiving, I will give running a break until we get to Tucson. That way I do not worry about the cold weather until January.

I'm Thankful for You

Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.
In each of our days,
we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time
paying attention to problems.
We give our energy
to those who cause us trouble
instead of those who bring peace.
Starting now,
let's be on the lookout
for the bits of pleasure in each hour,
and appreciate the people who
bring love and light to everyone
who is blessed to know them.
You are one of those people.
On Thanksgiving,
I'm thankful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I looked at the Turkey run on Thanksgiving, Wake Forest isn't too far and I am thinking about it. I just need to check with my hunny for the ok. Not sure if he is working that day or not, he usually has to work holidays because of shut down.

Value Yourself

Never guess what others might be thinking.

Live your own life

Make your own choices.

Value your own opinions.

Choose to associate mostly with positive people who support you.

Never guess what others might be thinking.

Don't make assumptions.

Don't Take Anything Personally. Nothing others do is because of you.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

don't care what people think or say about you, you know who you are.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Stand Tall, Stand Proud.

Know that you are unique and magnificent.

You do not need the approval of others.

Live your own life full out. Live boldly with vision, purpose, and commitment. and live your own life.

Hope you are having a wonderful day.
