Is that my clavicle?

It's my third attempt to use SparkPeople to lose weight, but only the first after getting a medical diagnosis that has challenged me to take my health very seriously. After a few weeks of changing my mindset and hitting the gym Rocky-style, I can now start seeing evidence of my clavicle (collarbone) which I haven't seen in years. I've missed it so.

After a few weeks of changing my mindset and hitting the gym Rocky-style, I can now start seeing evidence of my clavicle (collarbone) which I haven't seen in years. I've missed it so.

While working on my health now has me focused on certain indicators, weight loss will be an inextricable part of being successful in managing my health. My goal is no longer about looking cute or attending a reunion or fitting into a dress--it's now about realizing that choosing tiramisu over my health time and time again has not served me well and now I have to treat myself a little better than that.

Update (6/26/12): I am back on course after dealing with a foot injury that prevented me from exercising the way I am used to. I was not able to adapt (by eating less or exercising in different ways) and put on 20 pounds as a result! So, now I have 35 pounds until I hit my goal weight, but I won't rest until I do. I'm less focused on weight than on living healthily every day, but I also like having a tangible goal. :)

My Goals:
Update 10/7/2011: I first started this process on SP back on Sept. 22, 2010 with a goal of losing 60 pounds. However, after losing 45 pounds, I want to kickstart the process again and stop resting on my laurels. I have 15 pounds to lose until I hit my first goal weight, and I'm committed to doing so in a healthy and fun way. Good luck to all of you on your journey as well!
