Is that my clavicle?

It's my third attempt to use SparkPeople to lose weight, but only the first after getting a medical diagnosis that has challenged me to take my health very seriously. After a few weeks of changing my mindset and hitting the gym Rocky-style, I can now start seeing evidence of my clavicle (collarbone) which I haven't seen in years. I've missed it so.

While working on my health now has me focused on certain indicators, weight loss will be an inextricable part of being successful in managing my health. My goal is no longer about looking cute or attending a reunion or fitting into a dress--it's now about realizing that choosing tiramisu over my health time and time again has not served me well and now I have to treat myself a little better than that.

Update (6/26/12): I am back on course after dealing with a foot injury that prevented me from exercising the way I am used to. I was not able to adapt (by eating less or exercising in different ways) and put on 20 pounds as a result! So, now I have 35 pounds until I hit my goal weight, but I won't rest until I do. I'm less focused on weight than on living healthily every day, but I also like having a tangible goal. :)

My Goals:
Update 10/7/2011: I first started this process on SP back on Sept. 22, 2010 with a goal of losing 60 pounds. However, after losing 45 pounds, I want to kickstart the process again and stop resting on my laurels. I have 15 pounds to lose until I hit my first goal weight, and I'm committed to doing so in a healthy and fun way. Good luck to all of you on your journey as well!

My Program:
So far, it's this, the gym, the unwavering support of my family and friends, and my ambition.

Thanks. Yep Im old lol. People keep advising me not to let the bf move in. I don't know if its necessarily about the money he makes, but I have my doubts that he will do his part paying bills. He literally never buys me anything or takes me to dinner so I was surprised I got something for my bday. And he doesn't want to talk about it when I tell him he needs to pay at least 500 for rent he just brushes it off and says Ill try and then turns around talking about taking a tai won do class for 300 a month. Like when he moves in all the sudden he's gonna have all this money to burn! BTW my part of the rent would be 1500. I feel like he's gonna move in then expect me to pay for everything, and he doesn't see this as selfish. Its freaking me out because I don't want to pay for 2 - especially now when I can't and he's the one w a job.

Yeah learning all kinds of coding! Seems to be the job thats in demand today building websites and mobile apps...unfortunately Im forced to learn it or Im literally unemployable but everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon these days. I was on lynda for a couple of months but it was frustrating the hell out of me so I found this site called teamtreehouse.com- its really cool! It dumbed it all down for me lol-you watch a video then can take an interactive quiz. I just finished css-next javascript, jquery then on to ruby on rails. you should check it out its much more structured and tells you where to go next because it sets up a course list for you. If you try it refer moi- I get 20% off lol. Heres the link: http://referrals.trhou.se/deannamorale Also I had found a free first month trial offer online- just have to google it to find the link...

Thanks! Yeah Im still waiting to hear back about the job- its a dream job so ive been praying for like a month now. Should hear something back this week which Im hoping for, since conveniently my temp job will be ending in 3 weeks and the boss here also asked if I could do freelance, which I can only do if Im employed and not on UI again...so praying things go smoothly.
