Reaching Goal One Step At a Time

I started my journey at 251 pounds and have now come to the halfway point. My current goal is to reach the overweight range for both body fat and the BMI. I know I'll succeed because I have a lot of motivation to get there and I have the tools I need to help me along the way. I've figured out a program that works for me and it's just a matter of staying consistent and following through. I've learned a lot so far in my journey and the biggest thing is that you need to believe you are worth taking care of!! It's important to enjoy the journey, appreciate how far you've come, enjoy where you are right now, and anticipate all the great experiences yet to come. Fit isn't a destination, it's a lifestyle and making small liveable healthy changes in your daily routine really add up. If you want to succeed, the most important thing to remember is never ever ever give up!!!

My Program:
I use a Fitbit to keep track of my fitness, food, and sleep stats and I blog and journal and use SparkCoach for motivation. I eat six meals a day spaced three hours apart but I eat according to a calorie deficit rather than a fixed range as this allows me to work towards my goals while still being adjustable to my lifestyle. I'm focused on nutrition first and weight-loss follows. I practice mindful eating and I have specific ranges for protein, fat, carbs, and fiber, and I strive to hit these nutritional marks each day, as well as get five servings of fruits/veggies and at least 8 glasses of water. It makes such a huge difference in your energy levels and your body's condition and your overall health (I have perfect blood pressure!) that the weight loss becomes almost an extra bonus!

My fitness program currently consists of:
*Walking
*Yoga
but as I get fitter would like to add to my program:
*Turbo Jam
*Yoga Booty Ballet
*Tony Little's Ab Reduction

Personal Information:
I'm from Wisconsin. I am a Buddhist. I have a 5-year-old son that is the centre of my world and a Pomeranian that is a lazy couch potato dog and only wants to walk for eight minutes and then you have to coax him to forge on! I love coffee and tea, The Killers and Franz Ferdinand, reading, writing, and watching episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Aquateen Hungerforce.
