Today is the First Day of the Rest of My Life!

I am Barb. 36 year old Housewife and Homeschool Mom in Tampa, Florida. I am 5'8".

I am here to help stay motivated to lose weight and get in shape.

I began my weight loss and fitness journey on June 1, 2011 at 255 lbs. I discovered SparkPeople at the end of July 2011. As of December 31, 2011 I am down to 229 lbs for a loss of 26 lbs. In the year of 2012 I went from 229 lbs down to 201 lbs, which is 28 lbs. down for a total loss ...

I began my weight loss and fitness journey on June 1, 2011 at 255 lbs. I discovered SparkPeople at the end of July 2011. As of December 31, 2011 I am down to 229 lbs for a loss of 26 lbs. In the year of 2012 I went from 229 lbs down to 201 lbs, which is 28 lbs. down for a total loss of 54 lbs. Also in 2012, in November, I had a regular check up with my doctor to go over lab results which were all within healthy, normal ranges for the 1st time in at least 10 years. No more high blood sugar, no more out of whack cholesterol and no more high blood pressure!

In 2013 I would like to...

1) Lose the last 26 lbs. to reach my goal weight of 175 lbs.
2) Be able to wear a size 14 or smaller.
3) Keep up with my food tracking daily.
4) Exercise daily, even if it's only a brief amount. No excuses!
5) Read through my Message Pause/Rewind Daily Bible & attend church as often as possible
6) Continue exceeding water drinking goals daily
7) Make crochet Christmas ornaments throughout year to give to family & friends
8) Complete my doggy cross stitch project
9) Read 100 books from my current favorite authors as well as classics and new authors
10) Keep my home clean and organized
11) Try a new healthy dinner recipe once a month
12) Get my planters weeded and kept weed free

Personal Information:
I am a native of Tampa, Florida.

I have been homeschooling my son since 5th grade. We will be tackling 11th grade in 2012/2013.

I am happily married and will celebrate 11 years of marriage July 13, 2013. We've been together since November 24, 1997 and he's my best friend.

I am a Christian and accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and am thankful He has paid my debt for my sins.

I enjoy reading, listening to music, playing computer games especially RPGs and Sim type games.

I love to crochet and do cross stitching. I am also working on learning to knit.

I want to get into gardening, but I need to get into better shape and get my allergies under better control.
