One more thing... don't look at that 160 pounds as a whole. Break it into smaller goals. The 160 pounds will soon look as an insurmountable goal, but if you break into say 15 or 20 pounds or even 5 pounds you will feel excited each time you reach on of the goals and be even more motivated to keep going.
TabbyKat you have taken your first step. Now lift that foot and take the next. I have a lot of cliche's I could use. But I'll put only one... Take each day one day at a time. Look to the team for support.
Congratulations on your first step to being healthy! You can do this. There are lots of SparkMembers here that have gone through the same journey. Because we are going through it together makes it easier to stay accountable for our actions! Keep up the great work! :)
Life happens one day at a time. Suppose, instead of saying i have 160 pounds to lose, you start saying “Today, I am going to observe what I am eating because I want to eat less.” Today is what matters and you can control, or if not in control today you can correct it on the next today - once you know what you are doing each day.
