My goal is total body and life transformation.

I have been overweight for most of my life, and have unsuccessfully tried to lose weight for most of this time. In fact, I have been on this site for 6 years! WOW! Fail after fail after fail.

Well, fail no longer. All of this time has allowed me to learn a lot about exercise, nutrition and weight loss. As such, I'll be bringing all of this knowledge to bear on this goal. And as have also just turned 40, I feel that the time is right...after all, my life is literally on the ...

My Goals:
To fully transform myself physically and transform my way of living.

Go from a sedentary lifestyle to a physically active one.

Live life to the fullest.

My ultimate goal is aggressive: 170 pounds, 10% body fat. I think this can be realistically achieved in 2 years time.

My Program:
Ultimately, burn body fat while maintaining muscle.

Roughly 2000 calories. Actual amount calculated based on BMR.

My program is based on what I learned through Tom Venuto's books. Supplemented with learnings from a lot of other sources.

Strength: Two day split routine with rest on the third day (if needed). I have a free weights and bodyweight exercise in place. Will rotate between them

Cardio: Elliptical. For now. Exploring options outside of the treadmill as I hate running.

...just trying to keep it simple. Lack of consistency is my biggest weakness.

Wow! You're going to Tokyo?! What a coincidence. Yes, it might be difficult to track food, but I don't think it'll be hard at all to stay within calorie range. I love the food here in Japan, and the portions are moderately sized and expensive--the perfect combo for losing weight! AND everybody takes public transportation, so there's lots of walking. Let me know how it goes if you have time. I'm interested in your thoughts and opinions.

Yes, the increased ads here have me thinking I might find a different site to move to. The biggest reason I have stayed so far is because I seem to reach the most people with my blogs. Honestly, though, I have found that for the most part the macro counts on the foods Spark enters (not so much members) are good. The oat flour yesterday was, for me, the exception.
