STITCH AND SHIMMY
I am a belly dancer and a seamstress. I have two sons, a black cat named Lily, and a Siamese cat named Shao-Shao. I started at 198 lbs. I gained the weight after a serious illness that nearly claimed my life. I had lost my sight, my ability to speak, and I couldn't walk. I was bed-ridden and had to be feed through a tube. When I started to recover, I gained a lot of weight. My sight and my ability to talk came back quickly. It took me 3 months to relearn how to walk. ...

I gained the weight after a serious illness that nearly claimed my life. I had lost my sight, my ability to speak, and I couldn't walk. I was bed-ridden and had to be feed through a tube. When I started to recover, I gained a lot of weight. My sight and my ability to talk came back quickly. It took me 3 months to relearn how to walk. It was six years before I could dance again. I am now at 150 lbs. Patience, Balance, & Moderation.

My Goals:
To stay in performance shape. To manage my chronic pain through daily physical activity. To manage stress through daily physical activity, meditation, religious practice, yoga, taking care of myself, avoiding stress triggers, and just being nice to everyone in general.
My Program:
Walk instead of taking the car. Cardio: 120 mins. 6x/week. Strength Training: 30 mins. 3x/week. Stationary Bike: 20 mins. 1x/week. Yoga: 30 mins 1x/week. Meditation: 10 mins./day. Hiking: 1/week on Sat.
Personal Information:
My mother is a belly dancer and was my first teacher. I am a Turkish dancer. After moving to Salt Lake City, I joined an Egyptian Cabaret troupe.
Other Information:
MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS: I can walk w/o the aid of crutches or a cane. I take care of myself w/o a home health aide. I can take a bubble bath in my bath tub. I can tie my shoes again. I can touch the floor when I bend over. I can dance again. I can perform again. I can walk for any distance that I choose to. I can go hiking again. I can run for 500 yards. I can climb stairs again.
