I want to work out and eat well with consistency rather than in the starts and stops I have experienced my entire life.

My goal is to wear a pair of pants and tuck my shirt in and feel sexy all at the same time.

I want the wiggle without the jiggle!

Hello Hello emoticon

The cleanse sounds hard-core, but like it probably makes you feel clean and light. I like that. I always love the way that elimination of "extras" helps your palate appreciate the simple tastes of things. I've been replacing sugar in my daily diet, and I love how much more delicious fruit tastes to me - sooo sweet!

Speaking of sweets though, I went on a little bender on Mother's Day. Unfortunately, my mom triggers me in a HUGE way. She is my number one self-destruct trigger.

So, I ate sugar 3x's on Mother's Day. Coulda been worse, but I'm still sad I didn't take care of myself. Since then though, I've been doing great with food. Woohoo!

Oh, my 10 min yoga practice...well, I try to begin my day with it, but sometimes I don't get it in until later in the day (like today). Depending on time, I usually like to light a candle and burn incense. It always includes sun salutations, but beyond that, it really depends on how I feel, how awake I am, etc. Today, I began with 3 deep breaths, a prayer, an intention, and then I did a forward bend for a while, just hanging and holding my elbows. I moved into my sun salutations and held plank for 9 long breaths. I also did tree pose and some floor stretches. It's always pretty simple, but feels oh, so, good!

I hope you are having a most wonderful week, and I look forward to hearing how the cleanse is going. Keep taking great care of you!!!

Yes, yoga! It is such a wonderful, all-encompassing way to help create balance. I used to practice with a teacher regularly but, due to finances and time (or lack thereof), I now practice on my own, or with videos. I love my morning practice. It's only about 10 mins long, but it get's me in a great mindset to start my day!

I'd love to hear more about the Sattva Yoga Cleanse you're doing, and I think it's fantastic that others at work are doing it too. Having a support system is key!

Well, I wish you a healthy, happy week, my friend. emoticon

Hey, Kate!
how's your week going?
I'm excited about this new month. My goal is to find balance between my healthy choices regarding exercise and nutrition. Previously, I've succeeded in one while failing in the other. I want balance. Are you able to balance fitness and nutrition? If so, what do you do?

That was a great question you posed: "What did you do for yourself that was nice today?"

Well, I took time to make healthy meals; I spent an hour and a half with a friend doing our ACoA 12-step work; plus, I'm planning to finish my day with some exercise before bed.

But, there were still a lot of things that didn't get accomplished today emoticon

Thank you for checking in and encouraging self care.
Now tell me, what did you do for your wonderful self today?

Great advice on Sugar Addiction. I can totally relate. I like your suggestion about asking yourself if you will waste your money buying sugar snacks at the grocery store. emoticon
