Working on the 'Lifestyle'

I've been on and off this site for nearly 10 years now! I know that this is where I'll find the tools and support to help me find success. There are some pretty amazing people here!

I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I've lost (and gained) 50 pounds numerous times. In the last few years I lost over 70, but the weight is slowly coming back. As I get older, it gets harder to lose, so here I am...back to SP to help get things back in control before I undo all of my ...

I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I've lost (and gained) 50 pounds numerous times. In the last few years I lost over 70, but the weight is slowly coming back. As I get older, it gets harder to lose, so here I am...back to SP to help get things back in control before I undo all of my hard work. No more yo-yoing....working on making this a lifestyle.

I've recently downloaded the app to my phone to help with tracking. I LOVE it! It's so much easier than running to the computer to log food. It's also helping me to be more active on the site.

Thanks for the blog comment. That is also the case for me, when it starts getting twitchy it means that the back is just looking for a decent excuse to go out. Sometimes I can keep it from happening, but usually it's going to happen whether I want it to or not! Muscle relaxers do help at least somewhat. The muscles spasm and cramp which puts pressure on the nerve bundles which causes the back to go out. Muscle relaxers allow the muscles to stop cramping and sometimes this takes the pressure off of the nerves. Of course, getting muscle relaxers (or pain meds) has become almost impossible. Every time I ask for some I get looked at like I'm a junkie trying to score and they offer an anti-inflammatory instead. I have several pill bottles of Naproxen, which really does nothing for me. I try to explain that after living on 6 Vicodin and 4 Flexeril for a couple of years, mild pain reducers do absolutely nothing at all, might as well take Flintstone vitamins.

I am a work in progress too! Maybe I should be more attentive to the scale. I have not been consistent and to me that is key. emoticon

Thanks for the blog comment. Headed in the right direction, for one week at least! I need to be much more consistent, my heart just isn't in it. The back is a constant struggle, most days it's within the parameters of being able to deal with it, other days, not so much! But at least for now, it's cooperating and not giving me much trouble.
