I am a farmer's wife and the mom of a 14-yo daughter as well as a 30-yo son (just graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and studying for his board exam in October). I am a farmer's wife and the mom of a 14-yo daughter as well as a 30-yo son (just graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and studying for his board exam in October). I work part-time as an associate in a local CPA office. I volunteer with the County's Extension Office as a Master Gardener. I am trying to get back to work as a writer in my spare time.My spare time is spent reading, gardening, sewing, and knitting. In rare moments, I actually clean/organize my home. LOL!

Juggling parenthood, working, volunteering, and writing has been a challenge especially when coupled with losing weight and keeping up with a healthy and active lifestyle.

In 2008, I was diagnosed with high cholesterol, borderline high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, bursitis (hips), and arthritis (hips, knees, & hands).

I lost 30 lbs with SP back in 2011, unexpectedly gaining a job at a local church, and in the process, gaining a lot of confidence.

However, stress from a change in pastors in August 2011 and the resulting loss of most of the parish staff during the summer of 2012 took its toll--by December 2012 I had gained back all the weight lost plus an additional 5 lbs.

I quit that job in December 2012 and a week later found myself working for a local CPA. The job switch was heaven-sent and the stress was dramatically lessened.

I started on a healthy eating and exercise program in mid-February 2013, utilizing resources from SP and Weight Watchers Online and have lost 17 lbs.

Arthritis and exercise-related injuries have proven to be a real challenge but I shall overcome!

My Goals:
Short-term Goals:
1) Lose 15% of body weight (33 lbs).
2) Body fat=45% or less
3) Exercise 30 minutes/day, 6-days/week.
4) Knee Strengthening exercises twice a week
5) Earn $5000 in writing income and deposit in retirement account.
6) Cook healthy dinners 3x/week.
7) Develop & perform a yoga routine for flexibility & meditation.
8) Clean out one room or closet each month.
9) Kiss my husband daily. Hug my children daily.



My Program:
Program:

1) 1400-1800 daily calories
2) Reach for veggie or fruit instead of sugar.
3) Cardio 6x/week, 180 minutes total.
4) Strength exercises 6x/week--upper body twice/week, core twice/week, & lower body & knee exercises, twice/week

I have to tell you, I LOVE your quotes under "Other Information"! I stash quotes away for future use (an appropriate occasion always seems to come up!) and you had a couple I had never heard before!
