I have battled my weight for as long as I can remember...I have tried every diet pretty much known to man...in the long run, I have found moderation to be the key. I have had past success on SP and yet just need to stick with it...I just recently turned 33 and am not happy with my body, but I know that with the encouragement of my family, friends, people on here, and most importantly, the Lord, this can be done!
August 21, 2008-Update:
I have been on here since January 2, 2008 and so far, I'm very close to halfway to my goal. Has it been easy, ABSOLUTELY NOT, but has it been worth it, ABSOLUTELY!!! I am so thrilled with Sparkpeople for the consistent motivation and encouragement that I receive. I work out at least 5 times per week (usually 3 days of cardio and 2 of strength training). I belong to Lifetime Fitness gym and am an avid fan of fitness classes as opposed to just doing a machine...I guess I do better when someone's pushing me to keep going!!! :) I do pretty well tracking my food (much better when I'm not on summer vacation!) However, I feel that I really have learned to listen to my body and to see food as energy that my body needs to function. I drink at least 64 oz. of water a day, but often times it is like twice that amount, especially when I'm working out! I can definitely tell that my metabolism has kicked up...I'm hungry a lot and have learned to always have healthy snacks and water with me...I pretty much eat all throughout the day, but it is healthy snacks (usually), like yogurt (every morning) and usually fruit or some kind of bar like a fiber one bar. Before I work out (if it's in the afternoon), I often will eat a small cheese stick and an apple! Have I arrived? By no means. Do I get discouraged? Absolutely! Am I going to give up? Not a chance! I haven't felt or looked like this in years...it is a great feeling...I still have a ways to go but my motto has been slow and steady. I will get there with the help of my friends and family and my sparkpeople community!

I started the SP swimsuit bootcamp today. I'm at 159 pounds and I know it doesn't sound too ambitious, but I'd like to be to 154 or 155 by the end of May. It is harder and harder to get it off, but I'm not giving up. I have 20-30 more pounds that I'd like to lose. I will get there...definitely not in my time frame, but I will get there!
I want to lose weight! I would love to be to my goal by December 31, 2008! (or even sooner, by birthday, 12/26). I also want to tone and firm and lose my gut, saddlebags, and just tighten up some areas. Most noticeably immediately, to rid myself of my double chin (though you can't see it too badly in the pictures, it's here now). I want to stick with it over the long haul...
By 2/14/08-I want to be down 15-20 pounds...that's my first goal (208-213...that's my 10%)! I met this goal...shortly after the fact, but did it still.
5/15-below 200 pounds
6/19-down 40 pounds (college girls reunion weekend) (188 pounds)
9/11-down 60 pounds (15 year HS reunion that weekend) (168 pounds)
12/25-down 80-90 pounds-GOAL weight (138-148 pounds)
As of today, I am back to tracking my calories eaten. I want to get back to exercising more but injured my foot about 6 weeks ago and am wearing a boot...I may have to resort to swimming. Once I get back to normal, I need to hit the gym at least 3-4 days per week...
Updated May 27, 2008-I have been tracking my calories pretty steadily. I work out usually 6 days a week, sometimes 5. I have found that I think exercise is a big key in my weight loss so far. I work out regularly and at a pretty tough pace. I'm big time into classes at the gym as often as I can take them. I take a couple of strength training (weights) classes per week, a couple latin fusion/zumba (latin dance) classes per week-great workout even though I look like an idiot, and some spin, step, and kickboxing here and there. I also enjoy a class called strike, similar to kickboxing. Otherwise, I will walk or do the elliptical if I can't make it to a class!
I am a single, 34 year old female from Indianapolis, IN. I was born and raised here, lived in TN for 5 years, FL for 7 years and have been back in IN for the past 3 1/2 years.
I hope to be an encouragement to you all and am hoping for the same from you too! "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
