A bigger life in a smaller body

My sparkjourney has been a roller coaster. I started sparkpeople during a 2 year hiatus from work. I followed the spark plan and lost 100+lbs. I felt amazing. I could run! I liked how I looked in pictures.

Then, I returned to the workforce. All those healthy habits I had established drifted away as, time & again, I chose career over everything else.

And now... I'm on stress leave, burned out, 60 lbs heavier and everything feels so hard.

I want to get back to that healthy lifestyle. To feeling amazing.

The first step is to manage my stress, so I'm going to focus on stress-relieving habits first. Sparkpeople, you helped me once and like a true friend, I know you will help me again.

LOl I will still be reading paper books, not sure I really want it but hubby is getting a new one and I want something that isn't as heavy as the arthritis in my thumbs and fingers is worsening.
Will see.... but thanks cos I think I may be like you. Guess will try.

Oh wow! I say the story about the girl on tv but didn't know the rest of the story! That's so awesome that they asked her to move in! And the girl can have the people she loved early and the person she loved and who took care of her with her. Sure is a different culture than ours! And the fisherman that found her can rest knowing his mother is taken care of. I'm so glad you told me the rest of the story!
And thanks so much for the goody and your kind words! I just saw that after I posted this response! So I had to edit it. Just do the best that you can do in the situations you are in. That's all any of us can do!

Congrats to your non-smoking days!

This is the best thing you can do for yourself.

I too used to think smoking relieves stress, but after I quit I realized it did not.
Yes it was a time of non-doing which could have been good, but I actually spent my smoking minutes immersed in negative thoughts, so just added to my stress.

Great to see you write another blog. I also need to update my page. I just can't keep track of time these days. Think of you often.
I have gone back to work and have managed to score some extra help that is consistent. So now I am going to have to learn to work at a "normal" pace and I no longer need to do 20 things at the same time! This is going to be hard! But looking forward to it! emoticon
